Description
CLGT Solutions, LLC dba CLOVEHITCH is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business focused upon providing professional solutions in the areas of training and talent acquisition.
We are seeking American Sign Language/Pidgin Signed English Interpreters to provide services for two (2) deaf/hard of hearing (HOH) employees in support of a government agency in Lakewood, Colorado. Interpreters will provide virtual and on-site services in the workplace environment for meetings, appointments, briefings, town halls, award ceremonies, training sessions, safety talks, conferences, and human resources actions, to name a few. CLOVEHITCH currently provides ASL Services to other government agencies in CO, NC, and MD.
It is necessary for the interpreter to be a resident of the State of Colorado despite this work currently being virtual. This government agency is working towards returning to the office at some point in the future. We were awarded this one-year contract in October 2022, with the option of four additional years.
Education, Experience, & Requirements
• Must be a US Citizen living in the State of Colorado
• Must possess:
• RID/NAD certification or
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree from an accredited College or University with a major study in a field related to either interpretation or American Sign Language (ASL) studies
• Possess strong listening, research, memory, and American Sign Language skills
• Pidgin Signed Language (PSE) skills preferred
• Ability to sign in many various situations, including but not limited to meetings, small groups, large groups, and one-on-one
• Ability to perform in a challenging, creative, formal working environment, and virtual working environment, as well as have the ability to keep pace with communications
• Excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships (to include but not limited to) veterans, leadership, stakeholders, and peers
• Must possess fluency of sign language on the entire sign language continuum to effectively facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing employees and hearing employees
• All interpreters will conduct themselves according to the RID Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) and in a professional manner at all times to include but not limited to timeliness, profession responses appropriate for the work environment, attire appropriate for the work environment, etc.
• Must have minimum 3 years’ experience as an ASL interpreter
Work Environment
This position requires frequent standing, sometimes for two (2) or more hours at a time.
Physical Demands
This position requires continuous use of hands.
Position Type & Hours of Work
This is a contracted position.
Hours vary but will mostly fall between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM Mountain Time, Tuesday through Friday.
Travel
This position will require travel to the Client site.

• Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge, as required for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Basic understanding of linguistics and different cultures.
• Skilled in adjusting to rapidly changing circumstances.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
