As a Core Software Engineer, you will work on developing and improving the performance of our internal software to support our Production... departments. RESPONSIBILITIES...
• Oversee and assign dub work requests submitted to the Media Control center. Maintain accurate accounts to reflect scheduled, in-progress, and completed departmental work
• Coordinate creation and delivery of Deliverables by working with department Manager, Media Control Center staff, and Digital Intermediate Supervisor
• Coordinate project planning for larger studio initiatives as required
• Ensure Pixar’s standard of quality and accuracy of materials prior to delivery
• Collaborate with Manager and other members of the team to keep all data accurate and up-to-date in all locations including the Mastering & Operations web/wiki presences
• Administrate online screenings for the studio (PIX, Debut, Enterprise, etc), working with Production, Editorial, and Systems teams
• Support Digital Intermediate Supervisor in media creation and delivery in & out of the department
• Assist with storage and archiving practices and standards as they apply to physical media (videotape, film) and digital assets
• Provide administrative support as needed to ensure that communications are accurate and complete
• Proactively respond to requests for information and assistance from those within and outside of the department
• Ensure proper preparation and represent department at meetings and reviews as directed
• As required, record and publish notes from meetings, reviews, and QC sessions that accurately reflect action items
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least one year experience with post production environments, procedures and schedules
• Experience in a support role
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Organized and highly detail-oriented with prompt and thorough follow-through
• Self-starter
• General familiarity with: Macs, video
• Experience with online screening platforms such as PIX a plus
• Experience with FileMaker Pro, Excel, Confluence Wiki and Word required

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Taking ownership of the USD release testing process from end to end, ensuring high quality public USD releases
• Working with Pixar developers and our external partners to identify the root cause of failures in internal software and third-party USD integrations
• Improving testing workflows for USD developers at Pixar and in the open source community, including building open source testing pipelines in GitHub
• Participating in Pixar's internal software testing process, including determining the cause of automated test failures
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, and a strong desire to help others solve technical problems

• Ability to effectively prioritize and respond quickly and efficiently to multiple issues and tasks

The hiring range for this position in Emeryville is $129,540.00 to $167,640.00 per year.
