About The Position:

The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student's entire
collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We
partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities
and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of
Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and
well-being of the student body. The department of Admissions focuses on
attracting and enrolling a qualified and diverse student body to SUNY
Plattsburgh through a variety of methods. As part of a dynamic Admissions
team, these positions are regionally based out of a home office in Long
Island or the Greater NYC area (New York City, Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland
or Westchester counties) and are responsible for recruitment, conversion, and
yield tactics to help enroll well-qualified first-year students to the
university. Duties are expected to include, but are not limited to:
application review; student recruitment travel; answering email and phone
inquiries; developing and administering presentations; conducting appointments
in various mediums such as face-to-face and virtual; and personal outreach.
Travel to the main campus in Plattsburgh, NY will also be expected
periodically. As SUNY Plattsburgh is an institution that delivers challenging
and high-quality educational experiences to diverse learners, the successful
candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity,
inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Effective communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Ability to work collaboratively in team environments
• Ability to master knowledge of programs/services available to college
students
• Ability and willingness to work from a home office and conduct student
recruitment and overnight travel throughout New York State and surrounding
areas/states
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
• Willingness and ability to perform some evening and weekend work
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer software
• Ability to work independently to complete work timely and accurately
without direct supervision
• Valid driver's license at time of appointment
• A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty,
staff and administrators

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working in college admissions or related area
• Familiarity with Slate and Banner software
• Knowledge of SUNY Plattsburgh and the surrounding region

The College's 256-acre campus sits on the edge of the city's downtown area.
Plattsburgh is home to a variety of arts and cultural venues, including the
nearly 100-year-old Strand Theatre. Our active waterfront location features a
small town feel combined with the advantages and opportunities of a larger
urban center. The Plattsburgh area offers excellent schools, a vast health
network and elder care services, along with wide retail offerings. It is an
emerging home to microbreweries, wineries, community supported agriculture and
more. The campus is within easy traveling distance to Montreal, Quebec; Lake
Placid, N.Y.; and Burlington, V.T.
