ABOUT THE POSITION

The Marin County Fire Department is announcing some exciting opportunities to come work in a dynamic environment. The following recruitments open Friday, November 3rd and the first 50 applicants that meet the County of Marin's minimum qualifications are guaranteed to be moved forward to the next testing step.
FIREFIGHTER: In this role you are initially given direct and detailed supervision and training in learning the principles and techniques of firefighting and equipment and building maintenance activities. After successful completion of training, you will be expected to perform the full range of fire suppression, safety and prevention duties on an in-service training basis and to learn and perform journey level skills in all areas of work assigned.

FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC & FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC (LATERAL): In this role you are initially given direct and detailed supervision and training which includes delivery of medical care within the guidelines of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic licensure, as well as firefighting duties and responsibilities. After successful completion of training, firefighter paramedics are expected to perform the full range of emergency and rescue activities.

ABOUT THE PROCESS

To be considered for the Marin County Fire Department's position of Firefighter OR Firefighter Paramedic, you must have a Cal-JAC CPAT card and pass the FCTC Written Test with a score of 70 or higher within November 3, 2022 and November 20, 2023. Please visit www.FCTConline.org for information on how to be placed on the FCTC Statewide Eligibility List (SEL) and to locate information about how to register for upcoming Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and written test, information about study materials and grants for testing fees.
