Job Summary...

We have an exciting opportunity to join our ORV (Off Road Vehicle) team as a Design Engineer supporting intake and exhaust systems. This person will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and validation of Recreational Off Road intake and exhaust systems and components using a Systems Engineering approach. In this role, you will work closely with the powertrain group, vehicle team, and product management to help define key system requirements, create and execute industry-leading designs that align with sourcing plans, and work with Operations to develop and execute manufacturing strategies that ensure production success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Design and develop industry leading ORV intake and exhaust systems
• Create and maintain systems engineering documentation, conduct/support DFMEA, and assist in compiling DVP&R’s
• Develop system requirements to meet vehicle level targets
• Support new system and component development from concept through production
• Collaborate across the company to ensure project success
• Complete design tasks in the Polaris Release System and to ensure their timely release
• Support engineering reviews on assigned projects to ensure adequate input and involvement
• Analyze manufacturing and field problems to help determine appropriate corrective actions
• Benchmarking of competitor designs

Education, Skills & Knowledge
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 2-5 + years related design or system engineering experience
• Understanding and experience of powertrain, intake, and exhaust systems (preferred)
• Understanding and knowledge of intake and exhaust related manufacturing processes
• Extensive experience and proficiency with Creo or alternative 3D CAD package
• Strong mechanical aptitude with desire to drive vehicles for development and testing purposes
• Working knowledge of sound and vibration principles including interpreting modal analysis results would be beneficial
• Understanding and/or experience using FEA / CFD software
• Experience in data post processing for systems optimization preferred
• Experience with detailed system specifications development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment
• Ability to work with and travel to domestic and international technology partners

• Maintain accuracy of processes during production. Modify processes as required for product orders and effective immediately. Correct errors and work with operators to constantly improve process clarification and effectiveness. Have all process changes approved by the manufacturing engineer.
• Perform or coordinate analysis as determined and document results. Included could be photo’s, tear downs, integrity tests, material analysis, performance tests, durability tests, process and dimensional criteria.
• Work with Supervisors and Group Leads to make incremental improvements in workstation layouts and tooling. Work with Mfg. Engineers, Maintenance and Tooling to implement.
• Assist manufacturing engineering with the procurement of project items and implementation.
• Manage the M.E. tool directory and maintain accuracy.
• Work with manufacturing group to update and detail autocad layouts representing work station design.
• Keep organized documentation and display samples from the analysis for reference.
• Perform time studies to resolve workflow problems.
• Perform on-line process interpretation and training assistance.
• Work with QA line inspectors on resolution of problems related to sequence of assembly or improperly defined process. Assist in improving First Time Quality for the business unit.
• Work with materials group to manage product flow to the assembly line.
• Team members are expected to work wherever needed based on training.
• Work with New Product Introduction team to develop standard work prior to start of production to ensure a successful launch.

In the Assembly Operator position you will perform a wide variety of tasks to prepare or build up vehicle parts, sub-systems, and components. You will install subsystems, parts, and components into a vehicle on a moving assembly line. You will also perform checks and inspections to ensure good quality. The position requires the use and operation of various power tools, hoists, and production equipment. Assembly Operators work in a repetitive, fast paced environment and participate in teams to improve processes. This job requires you to lift up to 40lbs, bend, twist, turn, kneel, squat, reach overhead, perform strong pinch and grip, push pull up to 100lbs, and stand/walk up to 8 hours per day.

Please note: Polaris is offering direct hire as well as temporary hire for the Assembly Operator position. Employees who are hired into temporary positions will have the opportunity to be converted to a full-time Assembly Operator position at a later date.

JOB SUMMARY...

As a Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the strategy development and implementation for assigned categories in alignment with the broader Commodity Strategy. You will manage the supply base to ensure that all suppliers meet our four priorities: Delivery, Quality, New Product Integration, and Cost Competitiveness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES :

Supplier Relations:
• Manage assigned and establish new supplier relationships to ensure sufficient communication and alignment between the suppliers and Polaris. Participate in the execution of critical supply agreements and LTAs.
• Initiate request for proposal and quote for new parts and part revisions to approved suppliers based on defined commodity strategy and propose supplier selections for assigned commodity.
• Evaluate supplier capability and fit for overall Commodity.
• Identify and execute the implementation of cost reduction projects, supplier exits, and tool transitions.
• Manage cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status of projects and lead corrective actions as required.

Commodity Strategy:
• Execute on the multi-year vision for the commodity, taking into account input from the internal customers, purchasing goals, risk, future growth plans, and broader supply chain strategy.

Sourcing Priority Management:
• Based on the commodity strategy and goals, establish individual supplier cost reduction approaches and quantifiable targets. Then work with suppliers to achieve those targets.
• Utilize tools like: fact based negotiation, should cost modeling, and competitive market analysis to initiate cost reduction projects.
• Establish contractual commitments to ensure longer-term cost savings to meet departmental goals.
• Support supplier quality function in determining root cause, necessary containment and counter measure activities for quality related issues.
• Monitor and drive supplier performance for assigned categories to ensure suppliers are meeting Polaris requirements for quality and delivery.
• Manage supplier capabilities, lead-times, and capacity to ensure on-time delivery of components to support production schedules.
• Helps support part shortages and delivery when necessary.
• Conducts make vs. buy analysis. Prepares and solicits requests for quotes and proposals.
• Lead coordination of resources and schedules between multiple departments to assist in the development, launch, production, and continuation support of production vehicles from multiple facilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or technical area
• APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. desired.
• 4+ years of purchasing or relevant experience (sales, engineering, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
• Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally.
• Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

JOB SUMMARY...

Responsible for supporting the financial planning and strategic analysis needs of the Commercial ($300M) division of Polaris with its recent rapid growth. • Work closely with centralized teams – plants/operations, freight, product cost, corporate – to understand complex business drivers and implications to the financials

• Accounting responsibilities as assigned: to include preparing/posting monthly journal entries, calculating warranty reserve, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
