POSITION SUMMARYThe Sales Manager is responsible for managing print and digital sales of APA Publishing journals and PsychiatryOnline subscriptions worldwide through a network of channels. The position includes increasing new sales and maintaining renewal sales for institutional subscriptions for APA Publishing journals and PsychiatryOnline; working closely with Editorial, Product Development and Marketing to plan, formulate and implement activities, strategies and policies and supporting regional sales representatives and agents globally. Position manages the external sales effort via management of regional sales representatives and internally a Sales Associate. Sales Manager also acts as Government Sales Representative and Consortia Sales Representative.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and implement sales efforts to increase new institutional subscriptions for APA Publishing journals and PsychiatryOnline.org subscription products.- Respond to subscription rate... inquires, access questions, and trial requests.- Process new sales in Naviga and provide customer service.- Maintain database for all activities associated with sales or trials- Coordinate initiatives to promote new sales with internal and external sales staff.- Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports on sales activities across all products and regions, with sales analysis.- Oversee all institutional license agreements, working closely with Legal department.- Develop and implement retention campaigns for existing institutional subscribers to maintain high percentage of renewing subscribers across all products.- Manage institutional renewal notices, monitor customer expiration dates, and implement campaigns to capture renewal sales.- Monitor tier levels and usage reports to determine appropriate pricing. Monitor site-wide usage and institutional denials for lead upsell accounts.- Research and process renewals in Naviga and respond to customer inquiries.- Develop materials to promote usage and renewals, including user guides for end user and librarians, promotional marketing materials, and hosting live video demos, webinars, and trainings. Conduct regular PsychiatryOnline demos and training for regional sales representatives and consortia.- Write POL Update emails to communicate information to customers regarding their subscription or other PsychiatryOnline news.- Manage Institutions web page on www.appi.org with most current information and materials.- Provide promotional and pricing information to sales agents and representatives; respond to inquiries and follow up with customers as required.- Manage Sales Accounts for Institutional Subscriptions (Regional Sales Representatives, Subscription Agencies, Consortia, and Government Accounts)- Distribute institutional subscription and marketing information including new rates, policy changes, communications to institutional customer base, promotions, etc.- Manage Regional Sales Representative contracts and renewals. Conduct regional sales analysis to best support representatives for each region. Ensure all commissions are paid quarterly and sales representatives are provided with territory denials reports quarterly.- Manage Data Protection Agreements for GDPR for all subscription agencies acting on behalf of customers in Europe.- Manage all Consortia and Government contracts, acting as sales representative for all Consortia and Government accounts. Conduct sales calls to main accounts (via phone, web, or in person).- Respond to subscription agent and sales representative requests for subscription rate quotes, trials, usage requests, questions, and order processing, ensuring timely response.- Work closely with Editorial, Product Development and Marketing to plan, formulate and implement activities, strategies, and policies for all subscription products.- In conjunction with the Marketing team, create and revise a marketing and sales strategy and conceptualize marketing programs to increase sales. This includes drafting pricing, evaluating PsychiatryOnline package offerings on an ongoing basis, and planning new content schedule.- Assist with development of Institutional marketing materials, programs and campaigns.- Assist Product Development and Platform team with product and system training and providing customer feedback.- Represent APA Publishing at sales and trade meetings.- Assist with development of annual budget and allocation of expenses and in projecting revenues for subscription products.- Perform other duties as assigned.PandoLogic.
