Experience teaching community college in an urban setting.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. The College is searching for an experienced administrative and financial leader. Reporting to the College President, the Vice President for Finance and Administration serves as a member of the President's Cabinet. As the College's Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President will develop, implement, and direct the financial and administrative policies of the College. Responsibilities include oversight of operational and capital budgets, as well as for campus operations and facilities. The following are among the areas and departments that report to the Vice President for Finance and Administration: Buildings and Grounds, Campus Facilities, Human Resources, Continuing Education and Workforce Development, Procurement, Assets Management and Central Receiving, Transportation, Public Safety and Security, Environmental Health & Safety, Business and Fiscal Management, Treasury Management, Budget, Bursar, Accounts Payable, Accounting, and Related Entities. The Vice President serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Queensborough Community College Enterprise Association, Inc. and the Queensborough Community College Student Activities Association, Inc. QUALIFICATIONS

The Business Department offers several programs including an AS in Computer Information Systems (CIS) and an AS in Business Administration. The CIS group is actively developing articulation agreements with CUNY four-year colleges and expanding its programs to meet industry demands for qualified candidates. The group is also working with other Business faculty to integrate technology skills with mainstream business courses, including Statistics, Finance, Marketing and Accounting.
Queensborough has partnered with the New York City Department of Education to develop an Early College Initiative high school in Business Technology, BTECH, in Queens. As part of this initiative, high school students take courses offered by the Business Department during their junior and senior year of high school. The courses are taught at the Queensborough campus by Queensborough Business Department faculty. This position may include teaching BTECH high school students as part of the teaching workload.

The Department of Business at Queensborough Community College invites applications for a full-time (CCE) track Lecturer to primarily teach Computer Information Systems courses for the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition to teaching, the candidate is expected to perform student advisement, contribute to new course development, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
As a community college in the CUNY system, our students primarily take general education and lower division courses often for university transfer. Contractual teaching load is 24 contact hours (typically 3 course sections per semester); summer optional. Evening or weekend teaching may be required. The Business Department offers several programs including an AS in Computer Information Systems (CIS) and an AS in Business Administration. The CIS group is actively developing articulation agreements with CUNY four-year colleges and expanding its programs to meet industry demands for qualified candidates. The group is also working with other Business faculty to integrate technology skills with mainstream business courses, including Statistics, Finance, Marketing and Accounting.
Queensborough has partnered with the New York City Department of Education to develop an Early College Initiative high school in Business Technology, BTECH, in Queens. As part of this initiative, high school students take courses offered by the Business Department during their junior and senior year of high school. The courses are taught at the Queensborough campus by Queensborough Business Department faculty. This position may include teaching BTECH high school students as part of the teaching workload.
