What is the Opportunity?
Analysts in RBC’s Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (“PU&I”) group play a critical role in the successful origination and execution of transactions for our clients. Analysts / Associates work across all industries within the sector, including but not limited to:

What will you do?
• Execute a broad range of M&A advisory and financing transactions for both corporate and financial sponsor clients

• Develop financial models that forecast operating and financial results such as earnings, cash flow and credit metrics
• Create marketing materials to support transaction execution such as confidential information memorandums and teasers
• Create pitch book materials for discussion with clients that illustrate our advice and capabilities
• Through in-depth research, develop expertise in the industries we cover including awareness of trends, market participants and opportunities
• Partner with clients and third party consultants to perform due diligence on transactions
• Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
• Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
• Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis
• Other duties, responsibilities and authorities as may be reasonably required
What do you need to succeed?
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Experience building financial models and analyzing financial statements
• Ability to conduct independent research on industry and company trends

Associate Director, Risk & Controls Group
Job Description
What is the Opportunity?
This role resides under Group Risk Management within U.S. Enterprise Risk. Risk & Controls Group (RCG) is accountable for executing control evaluation activities for select stakeholders across RBC and its US material legal entities, with a particular focus on 2nd Line of Defense owned controls, US Regulatory Reporting and CCAR processes.
The team consists of staff in the US, Canada, and Malaysia. The Associate Director (AD) will be responsible for the strategic direction & execution of the RCG’s control evaluation program, and will act as a subject matter expert to advise stakeholders on the establishment of an effective control environment.
The role will act as a key relationship manager between the control evaluation execution team in Malaysia and control evaluation stakeholders within US and Canada. The role will partner with Operational Risk colleagues to incorporate control evaluation activities into the broader Operational Risk management program.
What will you do?
• Perform and oversee control evaluation activities that evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
• Develop robust and scalable testing modules, scripts, and other guides including testing approach and scoping/sampling for evaluating the effectiveness of Key Controls to mitigate key risk exposures related to regulatory requirements and RBC risk policies and standards.
• Create and memorialize detailed control testing documentation and review commentary.
• Conduct validation and closure of control issues as identified through testing.
• Analyze, aggregate, and articulate the results/issues/recommendations related to control evaluation activities, including presenting at governance and management committees as required.
• Mentorship and ongoing coaching of Malaysia-based control evaluation resources.
• Participate in the efforts to define, implement and continuously improve the operating model for control evaluation activities for RCG which meets US regulatory expectations and Enterprise standards.
• Act as a key contact and maintain relationships with control evaluation stakeholders, including but not limited to, US Group Risk Management, US Finance, Internal Audit, and US Lines of Business.
• Provide internal controls training and development activities, including Bank-wide and targeted training to support continuous improvements of the control evaluation program, and to elevate controls management capabilities.
• Participate in the design of the operating model for the team, leveraging resourcing within US and Malaysia to satisfy the team’s mandate.
• Assists management with developing budget estimates and managing resources to the annual budget and test plan
• Provide operational risk expertise where needed, to identify key operational risk exposures and create smart, key controls for high-risk processes.
• Promote understanding of operational risk management within US GRM.
• Assist and participate in the broader operational risk activities within RCG as required.
• Supports a high-performance environment by fostering an inclusive work environment, mentoring/coaching staff members, and enabling opportunities for them to achieve development goals
• Acts as the brand ambassador of the Risk & Controls Group by developing solid working relationships across the organization to facilitate communication and strategic partnerships
What do you need to succeed?
• 5+ years of experience in controls evaluation, operational risk management, internal audit, quality control roles, or other complimentary capacities, preferably within the financial services industry, a public accounting firm, or with a financial institutions regulator.
• Proven ability to establish and execute new processes.
• Strong relationship management experience, ability to build influence with senior internal stakeholders.
• Professionalism and solutions orientation required to liaise directly with Senior Management.
• Previous experience working in highly regulated business environments in the financial services sector.
• Understanding of US Regulatory environment. Knowledge of financial services products, fundamentals of US Regulatory Reporting and CCAR.
• University degree, or equivalent, ideally with a financial designation or relevant professional qualification.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Nice-to-have
• A CA, FRM or CPA designation, in addition to an undergraduate degree is an asset.

What will you do?
• Perform and oversee control evaluation activities that evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
• Develop robust and scalable testing modules, scripts, and other guides including testing approach and scoping/sampling for evaluating the effectiveness of Key Controls to mitigate key risk exposures related to regulatory requirements and RBC risk policies and standards.
• Create and memorialize detailed control testing documentation and review commentary.
• Conduct validation and closure of control issues as identified through testing.
• Analyze, aggregate, and articulate the results/issues/recommendations related to control evaluation activities, including presenting at governance and management committees as required.
• Mentorship and ongoing coaching of Malaysia-based control evaluation resources.
• Participate in the efforts to define, implement and continuously improve the operating model for control evaluation activities for RCG which meets US regulatory expectations and Enterprise standards.
• Act as a key contact and maintain relationships with control evaluation stakeholders, including but not limited to, US Group Risk Management, US Finance, Internal Audit, and US Lines of Business.
• Provide internal controls training and development activities, including Bank-wide and targeted training to support continuous improvements of the control evaluation program, and to elevate controls management capabilities.
• Participate in the design of the operating model for the team, leveraging resourcing within US and Malaysia to satisfy the team’s mandate.
• Assists management with developing budget estimates and managing resources to the annual budget and test plan
• Provide operational risk expertise where needed, to identify key operational risk exposures and create smart, key controls for high-risk processes.
• Promote understanding of operational risk management within US GRM.
• Assist and participate in the broader operational risk activities within RCG as required.
• Supports a high-performance environment by fostering an inclusive work environment, mentoring/coaching staff members, and enabling opportunities for them to achieve development goals
• Acts as the brand ambassador of the Risk & Controls Group by developing solid working relationships across the organization to facilitate communication and strategic partnerships
What do you need to succeed?
• 5+ years of experience in controls evaluation, operational risk management, internal audit, quality control roles, or other complimentary capacities, preferably within the financial services industry, a public accounting firm, or with a financial institutions regulator.
• Proven ability to establish and execute new processes.
• Strong relationship management experience, ability to build influence with senior internal stakeholders.
• Professionalism and solutions orientation required to liaise directly with Senior Management.
• Previous experience working in highly regulated business environments in the financial services sector.
• Understanding of US Regulatory environment. Knowledge of financial services products, fundamentals of US Regulatory Reporting and CCAR.
• University degree, or equivalent, ideally with a financial designation or relevant professional qualification.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Nice-to-have
• A CA, FRM or CPA designation, in addition to an undergraduate degree is an asset.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $130,000 - $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

Job Description
What is the Opportunity?
This position will provide support to Global Risk Management Deputy, Chief Risk Officer and Senior Management team with all administrative duties
What will you do?
• The primary focus of this position is the ability to use a high degree of judgement and discretion, this position provides administrative support for GRM organization.
• Works within a team setting to determine the routing/and or response for phone calls and mail organizes and maintains files, and plans meetings.
• Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings and travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements
• Answers and screen phone calls, using judgement to ensure that time sensitive and urgent calls are responded to with priority
• Make domestic and international travel arrangements and handle changes as needed
• Handle meeting logistics (setting up conference calls, video connections, scheduling meeting rooms, arranging reservations / catering, etc.)
• Manage multiply calendars
• Maintain office supplies, as necessary for the Department
• Special projects as assigned
• Distribute mail and coordinate courier service as needed
• Register visitors coming from other offices, assigning temporary working spaces, getting visitor IDs and assisting visitors when they are onsite
• Support Sr. Management visitors as needed
• Prepare expense reports accurately and promptly. Keep a record of expenses reimbursed
• Print meeting documents for Senior Management members
• Arrange and coordinates travel schedules, reservations, and travel and entertainment expense processing
• Draft Communications as required
• Provide administrative support for senior leadership
• Coordinate in office / out of office company team events
What do you need to succeed?
• BA or equivalent degree
• 5-7+ years of Executive Assistance experience, with demonstrated ability to multitask; excellent organizational skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, critical thinker
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledgeable of rules of grammar, punctuation and spelling. Excellent interpersonal skills allowing effective and professional
• Ability to accept accountability, assume leadership and demonstrate initiative
• Comfortable working with confidential for information shared
• Comfortable working and communicating with Sr. Level managers across the organization (phone, mail, email, etc.)
• Extensive experience in managing detailed executive travel arrangements (flights, cars, itineraries, maps, etc.) as well as calendar management experience using Microsoft Outlook
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power point, autonomous & highly motivated with ability to multi-task productively and work independently and collaboratively
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize projects and workload
• Strong technology experience
• Ability to handle a significant and diverse workload

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $90,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
