The RCA has a rewarding opportunity for a Registry Officer to join our team. The role supports the Registry Operations Manager and Registrar in the development and implementation of Registry processes including Registration, the production of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), the correct maintenance of student records and any other Registry process to support the student journey.

About the Role:

The RCA is looking for an outstanding individual to support the Head of Student Experience and Academic Registrar to deliver an excellent student experience to our current and incoming students.

The role of the Student Experience Administrator will be to support the delivery, coordination, organisation, and administration of the Student Experience team and contribute, as part of a team, to supporting a range of activities within the department. This person will act as the first point of contact for the Student Experience Team and provide friendly... helpful and informed responses to queries from students, guiding them to relevant information and initiating direct referrals to specialist staff. They will also take a lead role in organising diaries, meetings, committees, panels, and events for the Head of Student Experience and Academic Registrar.

I like to promote an open, supportive, and collaborative culture. I place a lot of trust in my team but I am always there to support when needed. I give my team the space to grow within their roles and develop as professionals.

What is one piece of advice that would you give to someone who is about to start in this role?

Role Purpose:

Part of the RCA Estates Directorate, the Estate Development team oversees a rolling programme of physical capital works projects across the RCA’s three campuses so as to maintain and improve the built assets of RCA’s estate and also to provide a safe, secure, and productive campus environment for students, staff, and visitors to the College. Within the Estate Development team, the role of Project Manager [PM] acts as one of the team’s technical subject matter experts in relation to construction project management, supporting the Interim Director of Estates [IDoE] in implementing RCA Estates’ professional capability and capacity to deliver... capital Projects (£1m-£5m), Minor Works (£100k-£1m), and Small Works/Moves (up to £100k); ensuring that all these projects meet the College’s standards for time, cost and quality of delivery.

The PM has day-to-day management responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of projects, including responsibility for external team members and project performance.

Working with the Deputy Director - Estate Development and the Head of Project Management, the Project Manager manages the Estate Development team’s appointed contractor base and supply chain, engaging with the team’s professional consultant advisers who support capital projects. The role also acts as a focal point for liaison with customers and stakeholders of particular capital projects as they are delivered across the College’s three campuses.

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow (Insight Compilation and Communication). Based in the Design Age Institute/Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design. This role is part time at 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week) to cover a period of maternity leave until 22 December 2023.

Working as a key member of the DAI research team, the researcher will investigate design for ageing markets, outputs will have a strong focus upon visualisation and communication.

The researcher will investigate and compile existing research around the later-life market, specifically examining the UK ‘longevity economy’ in terms of existing design and later lived-life. Producing concise... communication pieces summarizing key concepts around market and policy, developing tools to engage designers and innovators with the ageing economy.

Amongst the intended deliverables the researchers will be tasked to create an audit of existing products and services and map the policy landscape for comparison in order to identify gaps in provision and opportunities for innovation. You will work alongside the Knowledge Exchange Fellow towards creating coherent communication pieces, based on existing research and that generated by the DAI.

Assisting in the management and updating of the existing National Design Directory in collaboration with DAI Impact Manager and DAI Content & Communications Officer. Potentially adding an ‘academic institutions’ section, towards identifying how HEI research institutions in the ageing space can be engaged more effectively.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent relevant experience and have relevant subject knowledge for the project, evidenced through experience and research outputs. Evidenced experience of working at post-doctoral level (or equivalent) in an academic or commercial setting.

Overall, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key applied research role in a design initiative of national importance, networking with partners across industry, government, public sector, education and policy making.
