PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Expand opportunities for local farms and small producers to sell their products through A Single Bite’s programmatic channels and increase opportunities for local communities to access healthy food

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees and manages the warehouse, farmer, vendors, third party, processes, inventory, and information related to the overall flow of food from receiving and inventory
• Act as primary point of contact for order logistics and distribution, including fielding and resolving producer issues
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, farms, pantries, food banks, and other institutions, and collaborators in local food distribution
• Manage food and packaging ordering process
• Collaborate with DOD on matters related to accounts payable and receivable, follow-up with vendors as needed.
• Work closely with Executive Director and Director of Operations to ensure goals and needs are met in order to achieve the organization’s mission
• Manage the daily warehouse operations including accurately receiving and processing of internal and external partner orders
• Respond to inquiries, coordinating with internal program teams, community partners and vendors

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

Warehouse:
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment
• Follow all policies and procedures related to all aspects of food handling
• Maintain temperature, sanitation, and other logs required per policies and procedures by permitting and other agencies
• Perform quality control check of food during receiving and storage
• Receiving/Inventory Management:
• Manage the space allocation and layout of the physical inventory in coordination with program teams
• Manage product inventory (accurately report intake, storage, usage of space and distribution (internal and external) for all programs
• Count, stack, store, and tag product; rotate internal programmatic stock
• Generate and distribute daily inventory list
• Advise on rates and policies

Procurement:
• Coordinate purchasing of all local, regional and NYS grown/produced product
• Plan, monitor and re-order product related to programs and general operations (food, packaging, storage, etc.)
• Coordinate receipt of all donated product
• Manage ordering and

Fulfillment/Distribution:
• Maintain schedule of programmatic and other product deliveries
• Assure accurate record keeping (receipt upon delivery and refused product)
• Support the control Cost per Items Delivered
• Assure vendor, customer and internal program team(s) satisfaction

Delivery:
• Operate refrigerated van to deliver food; follow daily delivery instruction follow all policies and procedures related to van operation and food handling
• Complete timely and accurate records of food pickup and delivery
• Maintain van logbook; perform van inspections and report coordinate addressing any van maintenance issues

General:
• Review and comply with training, process documentation, and safety and routine practices
• Communicate operational constraints/realities/policies
• Primarily responsible for vendor communication
• Assure accurate data and support vendor/customer billing
• Report any customer concerns and feedback
• Report vendor and partner concerns to Director of Operations

Programmatic Goals:
• Support Real Food – Real Families (Family Meal Program) by coordinating distribution of family meals to approved destination via community network (or company vehicle when required)
• Support Farm to School Harvest of the Month featured product with producers and schools
• Provide technical assistance and referrals (in partnership with Sullivan County Cornell Cooperative Extension) for customers and vendors.
