Position Purpose:

We are seeking a recovery specialist to work with our collaborative healthcare team to provide mental health treatment services. This position is located at our Mulberry location working with adults in our crisis residential program. The ideal candidate has a passion for this population and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment. The Recovery Specialist assists adult clients in gaining skills and to manage their mental health through facilitating scheduled groups, providing education, and offering supportive interactions.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in related field highly preferred or High school diploma with 5 years’ experience in the mental health field.
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance is required.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Maintain a home-like atmosphere and environment that is safe, clean, healthy, orderly and conducive to recovery and symptom stabilization.
• Encourage and assist with training and educating residents to perform household and personal duties to promote self-sufficiency.
• Encourage, train, model and educate residents to improve or maintain their ability to live independently.
• Provide medication monitoring and training.
• Coordinate, support and advocate for residents to gain access to needed resources.
• Consult and cooperate with provider staff, staff of other agencies, or with others who are involved with providing services to the residents.
• Identify risk factors involving potential crisis situations.

Members of our National Recovery Corps will strengthen the ability of partnering law enforcement agencies to increase access to care and address addiction and poverty through non-arrest approaches. This program will place VISTAs in police departments to help build, strengthen, and sustain police-led programs to reduce and prevent overdose deaths and help more people with opioid use disorder get into treatment and recovery. This position will be in OPTIONS/ Biddeford Maine, PD and will serve as part of a larger cohort of PAARI National Recovery Corps VISTAs, spread across the entire nation. Individuals with lived experience with addictions, including those who are personally in recovery, are encouraged to apply.

Member Duties : VISTAs will be embedded in police departments to help build, strengthen, and sustain police-led programs to reduce and prevent overdose deaths and help more people with opioid use disorder get into treatment and recovery. Increase ability to serve more people, serve new groups of people, and/or engage in new or expanded strategies. Increase effectiveness in creating access to care for individuals with a substance use disorder. Increase ability to generate additional resources, such as funding, volunteers, and partnerships. Developing a project plan for increasing awareness and participation, community assessments, community awareness and engagement, expanding and strengthening partnerships with service providers, developing financial resources, developing materials, developing policies and procedures, program development and delivery, technology use, developing data collection systems and processes, and volunteer recruitment and management systems.

Position Purpose: Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Participate as an addiction counselor in the delivery of addictions treatment services to clients and their families and facilitate the issues of recovery into their daily living situations... Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary addiction treatment Position Purpose: Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary addiction treatment team to assist clients in reaching treatment plan goals. Some case management involved. Must be able to work 1-2 evenings per week. Must have valid drivers license and car insurance.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field (second level license required for Therapist title)
• Demonstrated education, training or experience in the criminal thinking model
• Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed
• Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling
• Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources
• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or be certified within 12 months
• CPR or complete within three months

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Work hours prescribed by the Coordinator and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
2. Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated patients.
3. Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for patients and/or family members.
4. Ensure that client service records are maintained consistent with rules and regulations.
5. Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, therapeutic passes, and discharge plans).
6. Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, employees and community groups.
7. Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance' clients.
8. Serve as a member of the addiction counselors clinical team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
9. Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
10. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
11. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance
12. Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : Based on education, experience and credentials
• Starting rate for Bachelors - $21.11/hour
• Starting rate for Masters - $24.44/hour
• Additional $.50/hour with CADC certification
