Team Description
As the Senior Product Designer on Safety Tools you will own the design for Reddit’s core Safety tool that empowers Reddit to find, review, and act on harmful content and behavior on Reddit. Your focus will be on keeping Reddit’s users and moderators safe through detecting and correcting harmful behavior. You will deeply understand the unique needs of Reddit moderation and partner with Research, Engineering, Product, and Community members to keep Reddit safe for our communities and members.
Safety is part of the larger Core Experience UX Team — whose aim is to make every day on Reddit simpler and more delightful to all of our community members. The Core Experience team is responsible for shepherding core Product Design journeys on Reddit.
What you’ll do
• Greenfield design of safety tools in order to keep Reddit communities safe for our users
• Collaborate with product managers and researchers to design a strong UX point of view to innovative internal tools that will significantly improve user experience for Reddit moderators and community members
• Understand the unique needs of businesses and translate those to delightful product features that will be successful on Reddit
• Design a holistic experience connecting the internal tools with the end-user experience
• Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from ideation to delivery; develop and drive the design milestones and roadmap
• Deliver prescient user insights across diverse areas of focus that are non-obvious and lead to innovative design solutions
• Build consensus across diverse teams through effective exploration and communication and present to design peers and senior executives
Who you might be
• 5+ years of work experience

We are looking for an SaaS Applications Analyst who is passionate about playing a critical role in the future of building and maintaining our enterprise applications ecosystem at Reddit, while partnering closely with our Staff Enterprise Architect. The mission of the overall Storage Infrastructure team is to provide the Storage platform for Reddit that enables teams to develop, launch, and run their workloads in a stable, secure, and maintainable manner. The Caching Systems team is a sub-team inside the Storage infra team. And we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this Caching Systems team.
The caching team covers all systems that provide data caching layers, which includes the Memcache fleet and the Redis fleet. Applications using these caching systems include all core applications that support the main Reddit site, and major Machine Learning and Ads workflows.
At the time of writing, there is a significant initiative that we are taking to revamp the way we operate and build one of the caching systems as mentioned above with the goal of achieving sustained and significant cost savings. Some Of Our Present And Future Challenges Include
• Build out cost effective, highly scalable, and mission critical Redis clusters for the company, with minimal manual intervention in steady state, and achieving high availability and performance requirements.

The mission of the overall Storage Infrastructure team is to provide the Storage platform for Reddit that enables teams to develop, launch, and run their workloads in a stable, secure, and maintainable manner. The Caching Systems team is a sub-team inside the Storage infra team. And we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this Caching Systems team.
The caching team covers all systems that provide data caching layers, which includes the Memcache fleet and the Redis fleet. Applications using these caching systems include all core applications that support the main Reddit site, and major Machine Learning and Ads workflows.
At the time of writing, there is a significant initiative that we are taking to revamp the way we operate and build one of the caching systems as mentioned above with the goal of achieving sustained and significant cost savings. Some Of Our Present And Future Challenges Include
• Build out cost effective, highly scalable, and mission critical Redis clusters for the company, with minimal manual intervention in steady state, and achieving high availability and performance requirements.

• Frequently serve on the critical path of various major product launches for the company.
