Target is looking for a high impact Director of Product Management for t he Q uery Understanding and Relevance product g roup (aka Search Relevance) within its Digital Product Management organization . As a part of the Findability product group, Se arch Relevance makes it easy for Guests to find the answers and products they are looking for at Target. As the Product Director for Search Relevance , you own the product vision, portfolio strategy and roadmap for this team. You are directly responsible for the capabilities and models that accurately interpret what a Target Guest is searching for and delivering highly relevant results back to them.
In this highly visible position, you partner closely with user research, data engineering , data science and data analytics teams and collaborate with other Product Directors to ensure a seamless and highly relevant experience across the Search and Browse experiences . You know how to partner cross-functionally with non- technical, business owners to measure, evaluate and test into the future of a best-in-class omnichannel search experience .
As a people leader, you are responsible for managing a team of highly capab le product managers of varying levels of experience to deliver outsized impact. This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. Job Description

What will I be doing?

Responsible for design, development, and maintenance of highly distributed software systems utilizing object-oriented programming. Utilize new systems technologies to implement highly scalable and easily deployable search systems service. Design and implement software systems tools that assist with A/B testing of personalized search algorithms. Rewrite search queries to improve end-to-end request response time of search systems. Collect and analyze customers’ search data to design machine learning systems and models that will improve the free text search experience of company’s website. Improve quality of search results by designing algorithms that analyze customers’ free-text search. Provide technical support and assistance with updating company existing systems utilizing technologies including Dropwizard, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, and Algolia.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related degree and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related position

Experience must include: Troubleshooting and maintaining of software search solution utilizing technologies Sensei DB, Kafka, Hadoop & Flume; Implementing search solutions by monitoring and stabilizing software systems.
