The position will focus on HVAC module product design and release, both internally and to customer, using CAD tools and through internal release process. Use analytical tools (CFD) to optimize design, conduct design reviews. Be part of the Global team to align on design standards & update as needed. Maintain design productivity / quality initiatives. Support Engineering activities... including FMEA’s, Prototype builds (customer and model shop).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES
Design & release engineering 3D CAD files and 2D drawings that meet customer requirements
• Develop 3D HVAC design concepts to meet project objectives – performance, quality, manufacturability & cost
• Review design in detail for conformance to HVAC Compliance Checklist requirements
• Verify manufacturability of proposed designs with Process Planning and Injection Mold Tooling Engineers
• Interact with Customer or with Customer liaison designer to address packaging issues & requested changes
• Lead Dimensional Management Activities for Project
• Review and approve detail drawings provided by design team in India
• Create Bill of Materials - Create / maintain Design documentation in ECTR
• Coordinate change control of designs, data and drawings
CAE Analysis to virtually validate the design
• Create models to simulate & analyze designs using simulation tools (CFD, FEA, Kinematic Motion)
• Virtually validate the design by comparing simulation results Vs. test data & improve modeling technique/methodology, as needed
• Work with global teams (EU & India) to share & learn, simulation best practice, lessons learned etc.
Participate as a member of product development teams
• Support Engineering activities including FMEA’s, Prototype builds (customer and model shop), etc.
• Report out at Project Team Meetings & Design Reviews as necessary
Create and maintain design productivity / quality initiatives such as: design guide material, standard library data, quality system procedures, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
• Required Proficiency: 3D CAD system - UG NX Preferred
• High level of interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others in a team environment, but in the US and India / Germany
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
• PFMEA / FMEA / GT&T
• Creation of BOM

PREFERRED:
• Working knowledge of Plastic Part Design and Injection molding technology
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
