This team is working to make fundamental changes to how categories and product data is represented in our marketplace. The work this team does will be at the heart of the future of shopping for musical instruments online, allowing Reverb to build groundbreaking features connecting buyers to the products they're looking for. You’ll join this team as it begins to set the new foundation for our product catalog, and will have the chance to quickly make your mark on our team and our business.

Projects you might work on in your first 12 months:
• Designing and developing a new taxonomy that matches the mental model of buyers
• Automating the expansion of our catalog of structure product data
• Devising ways to support rapidly scaling landing pages that help people find gear they're interested in
• Building tools to enable our product experts to deploy their knowledge across our site

Qualifications

Product ownership: We are not just software engineers. At Reverb, you’ll be encouraged to follow the performance of features you release, talk to product and design, fix bugs, and understand your impact on the business.

Self-motivation: Taking the initiative to get things done by finding ways around potential roadblocks and proactively working with other team members to find right-sized solutions.

You will use a combination of manufacturer documents, Reverb listings, and online knowledge bases to research, catalog, and accurately translate product information into database entries that will enrich Reverb listings and drive site features. In addition, you will examine listings created by Reverb sellers to ensure that they are accurately categorized and tied into our product database, and select particularly compelling listings for inclusion in site-wide promotions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAY-TO-DAY
• Matching incoming listings to corresponding database entries, and auditing matches for accuracy.

• Curating standout listings for promotions and site features.
• Upholding Reverb’s community standards by flagging nonconforming listings as needed.
