Role Summary
In this role, you will be a member of the Future Programs leadership team, responsible for driving overall program NPI readiness, adherence to vehicle level requirements and adapting the development schedule, continually highlighting key risks and mitigations. You will partner with peers across Rivian to ensure successful launch, including commercialization aspects (Go-To-Market, Service, Compliance, etc…). You will simultaneously interact with executive leadership and individual team contributors, acting as a bridge with full program purview.
Responsibilities
• Own and manage overall program schedule, including executive communication and risk identification & mitigation for full project spanning full vehicle development, including hardware components, propulsion & electronics platform, software integration, systems integration & testing.
• Accountable for tracking and facilitating overall program NPI readiness, spanning technical development, commercialization, compliance and other major workstreams required for product launch.
• Ensures program level adherence to product requirements and the development & execution of necessary vehicle level validation plans.
• Build and grow Technical Program Management team to cover all required sub-system development and commercialization workstreams. Includes team planning and individual development & coaching.
• Expected to develop close partnerships with program management leadership peers in Design, Software, Legal, Brand, VUX and other Rivian teams needed to successfully launch.
• Support creation of Rivian specific product development process
• Help fill organizational gaps to keep the critical path on track. Examples include:
• Analyzing data to inform prioritization or problem-solving activity
• Assist in managing suppliers or contractors
• Facilitating tactical stand-ups or problem-solving activity
• Understanding technical decisions and drawing connections between groups
Qualifications
• 8+ years combined program management and product development experience with consumer products
• Experience building and leading a Technical Program Management team
• Experience with vehicle program development and commercialization strongly preferred
• Established track record in bringing multiple products from concept to production and launch
• Passion for and demonstrated proficiency in facilitating cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with standard product development process and common tools such as D/PFMEA, DV/PV, testing, PPAP, etc.
• Experience managing 3rd party resources such as contractors or suppliers
• BS in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $205,000.00 - $236,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
