The Department of Environmental & Public Health (EPH) has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biostatistician. Under the direction of the Principal Investigators (MPl; Dr. Scott C. Brown & José Szapocznik), the Biostatistician will provide statistical support for funded (National Institutes of Health; Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) research projects within the Department of Public Health Sciences. Will collaborate with researchers on developing, implementing, and analyzing data for major research studies, including those funded by: The National Heart Lung & Blood Institute which examines the relationship of the greenness and social environment to health in 8,000 participants in the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) residing in Miami-Dade and San Diego Counties Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that examines the relationship of greenness to chronic diseases in 250,000 Medicare beneficiaries residing within Miami-Dade County, Florida. National Institute on Aging which examines the relationship of greenness to age-related cognitive decline and vascular events in over 3,000 participants in the Northern Manhattan Study (NOMAS). The Biostatistician provides statistical support and collaborates with clinical and translation researches on the development, implementation, and analysis of data for research students. Further, the Biostatistician serves as liaison between the department and the research community. Formulates study design, analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis of files, consistency checks, tables, and figures. Manages large data bases: Maintains, edits, cleans, analyzes and reports on complex observation research data involving large administrative and other archival data sets, including but not limited to hierarchical spatial autoregressive analysis Interprets analyses and writes statistical sections of study reports. Prepares results for progress reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications. Maintains and documents studies’ databases. Consults with study investigators on planning and specifying statistical analysis. Provides support to resolve barriers to analysis and consults with other methodologists and statisticians as needed. Functions as an active investigator in studies. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

This integrated cancer care model combines the strength of both entities, offering access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for adult and pediatric cancer patients, including clinical trials, immunotherapy, proton therapy, precision medicine, CAR T-cell therapy and cardio-oncology.
