Grand Canyon University is looking for a Part-Time Esport Coach. The Esports Coach Coordinates practices, scrimmages and competitive games. Perform scouting, strategy development and training regiments for an esports team. Administers all aspects of esports program including: recruiting, scouting, game/match and practice preparation, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, public relations efforts, budget operations, team travel arrangements, and fundraising activities. The position is responsible for developing student-athletes through a variety of instructional methods developing sport-specific skills, spiritual maturity, physical wellness, mental preparation, and character. The position will require the coach to take on the role as tutor and mentor to provide academic success of student-athletes and implement successful retention strategies.
What will you do:
• Establish appropriate game strategies for esports team to build skill and ability to compete.
• Coordinate scrimmages and matches with other schools, incorporating seasonal league games.
• Establish protocol to film team; review and provide feedback to team
• Gather competitive data and apply to coaching strategy and practices.
• Responsible for requesting, communicating and facilitating maintenance or replacing gaming hardware.
• Scouting high school players and potential walk-ons for team positions
• Create team environment which supports retention of team members and growth in skill ability.
• Among other assigned tasks.
What will you need:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 1 year experience competing in esports title of team being coached
• A valid driver's license and ability to travel are required.
• Must be available for team practices which will be after 5:00 p.m. and weekends
• Minimum 1 year work experience in coaching and coordinating team work in an esports environment; experience should include mentoring less experienced esports competitors.
• Coaching an esports team in a college/university.
• In depth understanding of the esports video gaming genre
• Ability to successfully manage, mentor and coach team members.

• Proficiency with Maya, Max, Substance, Zbrush, Photoshop and equivalent software
• Experience working on a large scale, 3D title (PC/Console) is preferred

What you'll do
Rocket League has gone mobile. Sideswipe is our brand new socCAR game experience (see what we did there?) in the palm of your hand. Take the excitement of Rocket League anywhere you want and play against your opponents wherever you find yourself. But we can't do it alone! We need a UI Engineer to help build the very best in mobile gaming experiences.
In this role, you will
• Be the owner of all the front end UI and UX engineering
• Build functional designs and architecture for our mobile gaming experience

We are looking for a Tools Engineer to work with artists and programmers to maintain and develop tools that will increase our efficiency and expand our capabilities to create the best content. Our ideal candidate is passionate about writing high performance code while implementing new tools and features into the unreal engine to meet other developer needs, and isn't afraid to dive head first into adding or modifying features of an existing AAA game engine. As part of the Psyonix Tools Team, you'll get to work in a collaborative environment on a live game, where the end users of your work can be both developers and game players.

• Provide technical support to artists by maintaining and optimizing existing tools and creating new ones as needed
• Analyze and fix common problems in the game engine such as load time, memory usage, and performance problems
• Bug Fix and maintain Unreal Engine 3 and 4's code base
• Design and implement user interfaces for the editor and other in house tools
• Assist artists with product and asset set up as well as troubleshooting issues
What we're looking for
• 3+ years of game development or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or equivalent experience
• Excellent C++ skills
• Experience writing UIs with a toolkit such as wxWidgets, WPF, QT, Slate
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine
• Familiarity with an existing game engine with an understanding of game engine and editor concepts
