Job Summary/Description:
WTOC is looking for an experienced anchor/reporter to join our morning team. The right candidate will have several years of experience on the anchor desk, enjoy working in a team environment, and have a passion for journalism.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Co-anchors 2.5 hours on the morning show.
• Helps suggest content for newscasts and helps with writing and editing when needed.
• Helps lead our 7am daily planning meeting and helps the morning MMJ come up with story ideas.
• Contributes to our Morning Break lifestyle show.
• Helps with station events, live remotes, special programming, and other events that require talent to make appearances.
• Talent will usually work with a photographer but will also be asked to learn how to shoot and edit, and may have to help out on occasion.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a TV newsroom anchor and reporter or Multi-Media Journalist.
• Must have a variety of experience covering light and hard news.
• Proven ability to be a leader and to work well in a team environment.
• Must have experience setting up own stories, conducting interviews, and editing own content.
• Must be self-motivated and work well without constant supervision.
• Videography and editing skills are a plus.
