We are seeking a qualified Scaler/Inspector for our Modoc, SC operations. The primary function is responsibility for inspection, grading, and manufacturing of barkies and shaved poles for inventory.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Inspection of barkie inbounds to ensure compliance with Company standards
• Classification and manufacture of all round stock by latest specifications on ANSI, ASTM, or corporate standards
• Inspect round stock purchased and shaved for conformance with standards
• Document and report production classifications or material processing through the shaver, including identification of month and year shaved, circumference, class, and length on inventory
• Maintain and operate chainsaw in a safe, efficient manner
• Maintain clean scaler inspection deck (and other areas) and clean-cut wood and shavings from area
• Assist in receipt of inbound barkies, tally and mark loads, and record information on daily inbound report as required
• Assist in loading and unloading of products, set dunnage, load railroad cars and trucks, band loads, and tally
• Assist in pole inspection of finished goods as required
