This individual will be working with the Director of Communications & Development and the DRDFS leadership team. In this role, you’ll develop and build relationships with foundations, write grants to be submitted to potential funders, and help... design and create marketing and communications material related to DRDFS’ marketing, fundraising, and program efforts. You Will: Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of DRDFS by learning about and participating in program events and activities and using that knowledge and understanding to seek aligned foundations for grants and to assist in creating marketing material. Actively engage in the execution of program events to ensure its success while gaining a strong understanding of the projects and areas for which grants will be needed and capturing material to support marketing efforts. Grant Writing Responsibilities Research foundation and grant opportunities, prioritize and create a strategy to fund DRDFS programs and projects. Develop positive relationships with foundations, government entities, private grantors, and agencies before, during, and after the grant process. Write, submit, and manage applications for new or renewed grants, including required attachments, following all grant instructions, preferences, and guidelines, with support from the Program Team as needed. Manage the grant process including addressing inquiries and follow-up reports. Marketing & Communications Create engaging posts (i.e. graphics, video, etc.) for social media including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter to help grow online engagement and followers. Assist with writing content for newsletters (electronic and paper) and blogs including articles about activities in the program, students, staff, advisers, alumni, etc., and send using e-communications or merged emails. Work with the Graphics Department to create materials for fundraising campaigns and events, including appeal letters, save-the-date postcards, invitations, sponsor posters, programs, etc. Assist with managing and updating content on the DRDFS website. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, including the identification, research, writing, cultivation, and management of foundations and grants, and/or marketing and communications, including electronic, print, social media, direct mail, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Canva is preferred Experience with donor management software (Little Green Light preferred), email marketing software (Constant Contact preferred), and website platforms (WordPress preferred).
