Ecommerce Customer Service Representative
This position is accountable for assuring customers receive consistent, high levels of service that support our eCommerce business initiatives. The Ecommerce Customer Service team members resolve routine issues and respond to inquiries quickly and accurately; responses are complete and focus on achieving high levels of first-contact resolution. This position reports to the Ecommerce Customer Service Supervisor.
This position is a non exempt, hourly role with a base salary range of $37,000K - $38,480 Annually.
Essential Functions
• Research, analyze, investigate, resolve, and respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, cases, and perform outbound calls when necessary
• Assist customers and internal partners via phone and email to resolve Ecommerce questions and issues related to online use
• Assist via online chat functions or forwarded chatbot service case inquiries in a concise efficient manner
• Complete online tasks on behalf of our customers such as: Create users, manage approval conditions, blanket purchase orders, budget codes, buyer, and approver group assignments
• Provide customer assistance and guidance relative to B2B Ecommerce Administrator’s dashboard
• Support and collaborate with the Ecommerce Enablement and Onboarding teams as needed

Strategic Account Associate
As a member of the strategic territory team, the Strategic Account Associate (“SAA”) assists in building partnerships across all district departments and uncovering new opportunities for team members (CSM, SME’s, Inside Sales, etc.).Collaborates with the Strategic Account Manager to meet or exceed sales objectives for strategic accounts in the territory. Focusing on achieving balanced growth across all strategic product categories within School Specialty’s 21st Century Safe School value proposition. The role involves consultative selling to execute strategy and increase market penetration. The SAA will optimize knowledge of School Specialty’s offerings and understand financial impact of their decisions. The SAA is expected to build and foster collaboration within the team selling environment to drive sales. To qualify, this person must be located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, or Maine.
The base salary range for this role is $55,000-65,000.
Summary Of Primary Responsibilities
• Implement the sales plan for an assigned set of strategic customers that will consist of approximately 75-150 public school districts, each with an enrollment greater than 5,000 students (“Strategic Accounts”).
• For each of the Strategic Accounts, will assist in the development and maintenance a Strategic Account Plan based on relevant information gathered on the district to include among other things, purchasing behaviors, competitive dynamics, district priorities, legislative impact, and budgetary factors.
• The role will assist in developing Strategic Account Plans, containing specific objectives for each of the Strategic Product Categories within the Company’s overall 21st Century Safe School value proposition. The objectives will take into consideration the current level of business with the customer and the estimated overall opportunity for the customer based on a spend per student penetration analysis maintained by the Company.
• Understand and promote the School Specialty 21st Century Safe School value proposition thru insight, design and implementation or modification of current plans that provide value to the customer and lead to sales. Utilizing the breadth and depth of SSI’s full product offerings to grow and penetrate accounts by utilizing SSI Category Specialists and vendor representatives.
• Understand complexity of customer account. Participate in the design and implementation of a business strategy to address their pain points that will grow the account. This role is expected to develop and maintain relationships with various levels of contacts within the respective Strategic Account from the administrative staff and purchasing personnel to school Principals, Superintendents and School Board members.
• It is expected to actively participate in a coordinated Team Sell strategy in furtherance of the Strategic Account Plan objectives. The Team Sell strategy will include engagement with Inside Sales Representatives and Strategic Account Sales Representatives where applicable, and also with Category Sales Specialists in areas, such as: Early Childhood, STEAM, Instruction & Intervention, Student Planners and Learning Environments.
• Maximize effectiveness through the use of tools and resources (Stratum & OneForce) to focus efforts on driving business and addressing white space opportunities. The role is required to fully utilize the Company’s customized version of Salesforce.com, referred to internally as OneForce .
• The role will be expected to manage a travel & entertainment budget and budgets related to other business expenses, such as: samples and trade show / conferences related costs. All of which will be done to ensure alignment with the corporate strategy and budget.
• This role will be required to successfully complete ongoing proficiency and professional development training. This training will consist of various applicable topics and include spending time in the fulfillment centers and within other departments to better understand the operational flow of the organization and other support functions.
Minimum Experience Requirements
• 0-3 years successful outside sales experience required
• Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and insurance in a program compliant automobile
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
• Junior College or college degree (Business, Marketing or Education preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
• Proficiency in the use of CRM (e.g., SalesForce.com)

Strategic Account Associate
As a member of the strategic territory team, the Strategic Account Associate (“SAA”) assists in building partnerships across all district departments and uncovering new opportunities for team members (CSM, SME’s, Inside Sales, etc.).Collaborates with the Strategic Account Manager to meet or exceed sales objectives for strategic accounts in the territory. Focusing on achieving balanced growth across all strategic product categories within School Specialty’s 21st Century Safe School value proposition. The role involves consultative selling to execute strategy and increase market penetration. The SAA will optimize knowledge of School Specialty’s offerings and understand financial impact of their decisions. The SAA is expected to build and foster collaboration within the team selling environment to drive sales. To qualify, this person must be located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, or Maine.
The base salary range for this role is $55,000-65,000.
Summary Of Primary Responsibilities
• Implement the sales plan for an assigned set of strategic customers that will consist of approximately 75-150 public school districts, each with an enrollment greater than 5,000 students (“Strategic Accounts”).
• For each of the Strategic Accounts, will assist in the development and maintenance a Strategic Account Plan based on relevant information gathered on the district to include among other things, purchasing behaviors, competitive dynamics, district priorities, legislative impact, and budgetary factors.
• The role will assist in developing Strategic Account Plans, containing specific objectives for each of the Strategic Product Categories within the Company’s overall 21st Century Safe School value proposition. The objectives will take into consideration the current level of business with the customer and the estimated overall opportunity for the customer based on a spend per student penetration analysis maintained by the Company.
• Understand and promote the School Specialty 21st Century Safe School value proposition thru insight, design and implementation or modification of current plans that provide value to the customer and lead to sales. Utilizing the breadth and depth of SSI’s full product offerings to grow and penetrate accounts by utilizing SSI Category Specialists and vendor representatives.
• Understand complexity of customer account. Participate in the design and implementation of a business strategy to address their pain points that will grow the account. This role is expected to develop and maintain relationships with various levels of contacts within the respective Strategic Account from the administrative staff and purchasing personnel to school Principals, Superintendents and School Board members.
• It is expected to actively participate in a coordinated Team Sell strategy in furtherance of the Strategic Account Plan objectives. The Team Sell strategy will include engagement with Inside Sales Representatives and Strategic Account Sales Representatives where applicable, and also with Category Sales Specialists in areas, such as: Early Childhood, STEAM, Instruction & Intervention, Student Planners and Learning Environments.
• Maximize effectiveness through the use of tools and resources (Stratum & OneForce) to focus efforts on driving business and addressing white space opportunities. The role is required to fully utilize the Company’s customized version of Salesforce.com, referred to internally as OneForce .
• The role will be expected to manage a travel & entertainment budget and budgets related to other business expenses, such as: samples and trade show / conferences related costs. All of which will be done to ensure alignment with the corporate strategy and budget.
• This role will be required to successfully complete ongoing proficiency and professional development training. This training will consist of various applicable topics and include spending time in the fulfillment centers and within other departments to better understand the operational flow of the organization and other support functions.
Minimum Experience Requirements
• 0-3 years successful outside sales experience required
• Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and insurance in a program compliant automobile
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
• Junior College or college degree (Business, Marketing or Education preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
• Proficiency in the use of CRM (e.g., SalesForce.com)
• Sales Process Skills – time management, territory management, financial management and question and probing skills.
• Builds networks including social media

The Learning Environment Senior Contract Specialist prepares bid and RFP proposals for the entire School Specialty product line . The position works closely with customers, sales, vendors, freight carriers, and installation partners to process bid and RFP opportunities efficiently, meeting customers, sales team partners, and company expectations.
The base salary range for this role is $65,000-75,000.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
• Complete furniture bids and all RFPs including new construction/large renovation opportunities.
• Partners with internal and/or sales resource(s) to professionally respond to school district, architects, general contractors/construction managers bids and RFPS that are aligned with their requirements and the company’s pricing strategies and goals.
• Prepare and complete legally binding terms and conditions documents for bids & RFPs

Order Filling
• Utilize RF equipment to pick product
• Ensure quantity and quality per order
• Prepare product for proper placement in carton
• Replenish pick location as required
• Utilize Pick to Light as required
Stocking
• Utilize RF equipment to put product away
• Remove product from vendor cartons
• Stocking inner packs to pick locations
• Ensure product is stocked in an organized fashion

Returns
• Identify and receive product against appropriate RMA
• Process unauthorized returns

All FC associates must be able to perform their daily work activities in a safe manner while following established location safety guidelines.
Minimum Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment strongly preferred

• Must be able to perform simple math calculations

Strategic Account Relationship Manager
Drives revenue by increasing School Specialty market share and penetration within a geographic territory. Works primarily via the phone generating new business, as well as maintaining re-order business. Provides consultative and collaborative approach to understand customer environment and competitive forces to consistently execute on the strategy and exceed customer expectations while gaining market penetration.
The hourly range for this role is $20-$25 per hour.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
• Effectively utilizes an inbound / outbound sales process including, needs-based consultative selling to aid customers in achieving business goals. Proactively interact with each account on a regular and ongoing basis, utilizing available communication Channels.
• Research and analyze the strategic business direction and needs of each assigned account to determine how School Specialty can best align itself as a vendor partner for all current and future business needs of the account.
• Coordinate and lead customer sales activities, and communication between each account to achieve appropriate business solutions, respond to customers’ purchasing needs and coordinate sales.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated issues quickly and effectively, improving both loyalty and sales.
• Supports the successful execution of service-to-sales (“Team Sell”) strategy and assures achievement of customer experience objectives.
• Function independently with limited supervision in performing all job duties and responsibilities including negotiating terms, pricing and contracts of each account.
• Effectively use OneForce/SalesForce.com to manage time and resources to provide updated information, competitive intelligence, and market trends with our customers
• Drives and creates a positive, collaborative team selling environment by developing a deep customer understanding of needs and leveraging internal departments to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Works with aligned sales team including Strategic Account Managers, Strategic Account Reps, Category Sales Managers and Vendors.
• Ability to overcome objections and effectively deal with customer rejection.
• Responsible for responding to customer inquiries in a timely manner and following up on all sales leads.
• Drives continued growth by moving customers to our online order-entry platform.
• Work directly with customer to assess, describe solutions, define products and create quotes.
• Responsible for input to sales, profit forecasting overall sales, marketing plans, self-study of products and applications
