SIL, or Summer Institute of Linguistics, is a non-profit organization that focuses on studying, documenting and preserving languages that are endangered or are not widely spoken. Responsibilities
• Unwinding of separator strip from reels onto spools.
• Places full spools of material directly from vulcanizer and places on Rewind unit.
• Place empty spool on opposite side of Rewind unit.
• Hand wind separator strip onto spool and metal sheet strip onto empty reel and starts Rewind unit.
• While Rewind unit is running, visually inspect for defects, takes full spool off, moving to tunnel dryer area.
• When reel is empty, removes to Windup area and replaces with full reel.
• When spool is full, removes and transports to Pre-Conditioning area.
• Maintains good housekeeping in Rewind area.
• Ensure reel tags are properly placed on full reels.
The essential functions of this role include:
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 10 hours at one time
• working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
