JOB DUTIES:
• Produces and monitors written and visual digital content (earned, owned, paid) for Saint Louis University's official social media accounts.

• Assists University stakeholders, schools, and departments in their social media presence and in upholding SLU's social media guidelines.

Job Summary

Founded in 1959, Saint Louis University (SLU)'s 1818 Advanced College Credit Program is the oldest dual credit program in the U.S. west of the Mississippi River and has a long history of providing high school students the opportunity to earn college credit from SLU at a significantly reduced tuition rate. The 1818 Program facilitates collaboration between high school and university faculties to provide rigorous university courses for high school students in the Jesuit educational tradition. Courses offered through the 1818 Program are the same courses taken by SLU's undergraduate, degree-seeking students at our St. Louis, MO, campus.

The 1818 Faculty Liaison Support Coordinator (History) supplements the work of SLU's 1818 faculty liaison(s) in our Department of History, frequently working in the high schools with which we partner to provide administrative and field-based support The Coordinator serves under the direct supervision of the Academic Program Manager in the 1818 Program Office; however, day-to-day duties are established collaboratively with the Coordinator's respective faculty liaison(s) in the History Department. Coordinator work is also significantly informed by continuous training and development offered by the Reinert Center for Teaching and Learning.

Job Duties
• Represent, and serve as an extension of, 1818 faculty liaisons via the conduct of classroom observational visits. Requires substantial travel locally and regionally, with occasional out-of-state travel.

• Regularly meet with faculty liaisons about individual 1818 course faculty and work collaboratively to support teacher professional development and academic quality.

The Department of African American Studies at Saint Louis University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the discipline of African American Studies to begin Fall 2023.

We welcome a range of interdisciplinary areas of scholarship and expertise, and are especially interested in applicants whose research and teaching explores Black political economy and/or Black ecologies/geographies in the U.S. and throughout the African Diaspora.

The tenure home of this position is the Department of African American Studies, which was established in Fall 2021, having long offered the B.A., and an undergraduate minor as an academic program. The department's core faculty specialize in histories of African enslavement and social movements, art history of Africa and the Diaspora, critical histories of Black education, critical prison studies, engaged scholarship, and community-based research. We are deeply dedicated to social justice and welcome applicants who share that commitment. The University is a Carnegie Research University (high research activity) and currently employs over 3,000 full and part-time faculty and enrolls more than 13,000 students in the graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs. The Athletic Training Program is housed in the Doisy College of Health Sciences (DoisyCollege.slu.edu). Faculty have access to classrooms and laboratories with state-of-the-art teaching and research technologies. There are presently 3 core faculty members and 2 associated faculty in the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program, who engage in teaching, scholarship activities, and participate in service to the University, the profession, and the community.
