Software Test Engineer: What You’ll Do
As part of the Quality Assurance Team, you’ll be tasked with developing and performing software tests on our robots and other devices within our suite of product offerings. In addition to performing manual tests, you will be asked to write automated tests when appropriate. Here’s a snapshot of what your role would look like:
• Developing and performing software tests, typically focusing on: Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, and Usability Testing
• Communicating directly with software developers to understand the software requirements for the purposes of developing tests
• Thoroughly documenting bugs discovered during testing and making recommendations to developers on product improvements where necessary
• Identifying opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency and test coverage
• Writing automation tools and scripts where possible or taking part in the design of such tools if outside support is needed
• Collaborating with other Test Engineers, Software Developers, and other team members
• Retesting software after bugs are fixed to ensure applications work properly
Software Test Engineer: What We’re Looking For

Software Test Engineer: What You’ll Do
As part of the Quality Assurance Team, you’ll be tasked with developing and performing software tests on our robots and other devices within our suite of product offerings. In addition to performing manual tests, you will be asked to write automated tests when appropriate. Here’s a snapshot of what your role would look like:
• Developing and performing software tests, typically focusing on: Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, and Usability Testing
• Communicating directly with software developers to understand the software requirements for the purposes of developing tests
• Thoroughly documenting bugs discovered during testing and making recommendations to developers on product improvements where necessary
• Identifying opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency and test coverage
• Writing automation tools and scripts where possible or taking part in the design of such tools if outside support is needed
• Collaborating with other Test Engineers, Software Developers, and other team members
• Retesting software after bugs are fixed to ensure applications work properly
Software Test Engineer: What We’re Looking For

• You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience performing software testing on a proprietary hardware device such as a robot or other embedded system.
• You are proficient in either C++ or Python. Our codebase is largely written in C++.
• You have experience in test automation development. We’re looking to advance in this area, and a good chunk of your time in this role will be spent developing automated tests, so it’s necessary to come in with these skills!
• You have experience in Linux with bash scripting.
• You have experience working with Git/GitLab.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time position. As a Level 2 Individual Contributor, the salary begins at $95,000 and is based on market data aligned with our strategic approach to compensation. From within the software test team, you will work closely with software development, system engineering, and other technical and operational departments to continuously improve the quality, speed, and methodologies that we use to create and deliver products.
We are developing next generation Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Ground Control Stations (GCS). This includes integrating new software and payloads into existing and new DoD architectures.
Duties and Responsibilities
While working in a cross functional team in an Agile Development environment, you will perform tasks including but not limited to:
• Automate and Maintain
• Test Automation Framework and Tools
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Pipeline
• Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
• Review requirements and maintain traceability to test cases
• Manage traceability between test cases and software defects
• Create and execute test cases based on requirements, risk or policy
• Support the creation of test artifacts such as Test Plans, Test Readiness Reviews, and Test Reports
• Participate in design reviews with customers
• Provide knowledge and expertise during customer test events
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
• Excellent coding skills with knowledge in C/C and Java. Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Programming
• Understand test automation and implementation
• Experience in both Linux and Window test environments
• Experience supporting requirement to test traceability
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• US Citizen
