Sourcing Journal Media is looking for aSourcing, Supply Chain & Sustainability reporterto cover the apparel, textile and footwear industries for our family of trade verticals. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience covering related industries with a B2B background preferred. The positionwill report on and write about breaking news for our daily online publications and newsletters... covering a range of topics including sourcing, supply chain, sustainability, footwear, retail, raw materials and technology. Thecandidatewill report to the Sourcing Journal managing editor and editor in chief. Must have an eye for news and the ability to pitch and create a regular stream of stories appropriate for our audience, which is made up of apparel and footwear industry executives. Candidate must be a self-starter, and a curious and inquisitive critical thinker. Must also be extremely comfortable and proficient in a digital publishing environment.
Responsibilities will include:
• Develop fresh angles for apparel industry features and shorter-form articles
• Collaborate with the managing editor to execute regular content for daily publication
• Research, report and write news stories and contribute content to features and special projects
• Pitch story ideas as trends emerge in the apparel and footwear space
• Attend events on behalf of the company as needed
Requirements:
• You're an enthusiastic team player who loves working in a fast-paced environment.
• You'll be expected to file clean copy and informative content (with an eye for SEO-friendly headlines).
• This position is an ideal opportunity to grow into a subject manager expert with increasing levels of responsibility within the organization.
Ideal candidates must have:
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, an ability to identify time-sensitive news, and file quickly
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• An understanding of how a B2B audience differs from a consumer audience
• Ability to learn new material quickly by attending conferences, trade shows, and reading trade journals
• An ideal candidate must be a fast study, eager to learn, and looking for career advancement opportunities.
Typical wage range: $65-75k
Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees. As part of our company-wide rollout of PMC's paid healthcare plan, for this role, the company pays 100% of the monthly health, dental and vision plan premiums for the employee and their family.
