The Role:
We are looking for a Head of Marketing to lead the marketing and communications team and take overall responsibility of the departments activity across SportsPros entire portfolio.
The key focus of the role would be to have full accountability and management of the people, processes and workflows of the team, with three fundamental outcomes:
• Drive brand value, engagement and consumption of existing users across our media channels
• Drive high quality attendees to our portfolio of in-person and online events
• Grow audiences and engagement across all social channels
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Set, implement and own the marketing strategy across the portfolio to position SportsPro as a leading platform and community for the global sports industry
To upskill, mentor and lead a team of marketers navigating a variety of different projects
Manage workflows and marketing schedules to ensure optimal output and performance across the entire team
Formulating a marketing strategy to move audience, customers and prospects down the marketing funnel
Business objectives include:
o Build true brand affinity with a brand at the heart of the industry
o Increase delegate revenues and attendances across our portfolio of events
o Drive excitement around our array of media initiatives
o Increase general engagement with the industry and audience
Maximise the value of an organically built audience of 90,000 contacts within our CRM
Generate qualified leads for the commercial team
Brief in-house web and print designers to develop all sales and marketing collateral
Distribute SportsPro content to relevant audience segments and communities to maximise engagement and lead generation opportunities
Develop content marketing and engagement around our events
Make full use of an in-house editorial team and its existing content output to maximise the impact their work can have on the full portfolio of products
Analyse current marketing campaigns and plan future strategies for improvement
Constantly evaluate and optimise strategies throughout all campaigns
Develop a social media strategy that drives engagement and ROI
You will have:
Extensive experience in leadership and management of a team of marketers
Experience managing a portfolio of products, events or titles
Extensive B2B marketing experience, and or B2B media or events marketing experience
Developed and delivered marketing strategies
The ability to segment audiences and target audience segments accordingly
Experience in managing, training and upskilling team members
Demonstrable experience of being a collaborator and is used to working with numerous departments and stakeholders
The ability to develop deep analytical understanding of audience, audience needs, industry make up and marketing type effectiveness
The ability to develop marketing campaigns that increase incremental revenues including subscriptions, memberships and delegates
Experience using own portfolio and audience as primary marketing platform
An incredible ability to understand and analyse ROI
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, using a methodical and accurate approach
Excellent project management skills
A passion for high quality branding and messaging
Incredible attention to detail and work ethic all output needs to be a representation of our brand
A passion for integrated and digital results driven campaigns
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organisation and a person who is a team player
Superb copy writing skills
Strong computer literacy across all Microsoft suite, CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce, and analytical tools and platforms such as Tableau and GA
