Qualifications

This digital library of historical U.S. economic, financial and banking materials contains publications, statistical releases, and archival material from the Federal Reserve, U.S. government agencies, and leading economic policymakers. This position will continue to build FRASER by improving content, access, and delivery to enhance digital scholarship. The goal is to develop FRASER to be the single most important resource for historical materials in the fields of economics, finance, and banking.
• Federal Reserve History: https://federalreservehistory.org This website serves as a gateway to the history of the Federal Reserve for educators, students, and the general public. The purpose of this site is to help demystify the Fed and its role in the economy, and to explain how the Fed and its mission have evolved over its more than 100-year history.
• FedPreserve is an internal digital preservation tool and part of the Fed History Vision program to identify, preserve, and provide appropriate access to historically important materials.
Overall, the goal is to
• Set the strategic direction and priorities for our historical tools, including the addition of content and promotion of these tools.
• Coordinate staff and content work to maximize the use and value of the historical materials
• Manage a high performing team to further the goals

Overview

The Homer Jones Memorial Research Library is known for its excellent customer service, providing answers to questions regarding economics, banking, and finance. Library staff are problem-solvers who contribute to a variety of projects across the St. Louis Fed and the Federal Reserve System. Librarians collaborate with other Federal Reserve Libraries and have opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities
The Acquisitions and Access Librarian is responsible for the following:
Purchasing, licensing, and renewing library resources; circulation and delivery of library information; answering information requests; managing electronic access and resolving technical issues; promoting library services; and leading efforts to organize library documentation.
Tasks include locating and providing articles or books to Federal Reserve staff, facilitating communication between Federal Reserve System Libraries and commercial vendors, and developing research guides to address common questions.
Qualifications
• ALA-accredited MLIS or MSIS or advanced degree in relevant field. New and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• One year [or more] of professional experience in a library environment
• Demonstrated experience using integrated library systems as they relate to e-resources, acquisitions, or serials management.
• Knowledge of electronic resource licensing.
• Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer support.
• Demonstrated experience collecting and analyzing data.
• Demonstrated experience managing competing projects and creating supporting documentation.
• Ability to cooperate in a team environment and maintain effective and respectful working relationships.
• Ability to approach problems creatively and implement new ideas.
• Familiarity with economics, banking, finance related information/data resources helpful
Preferred qualifications:
• Proficient creating Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel
• Prior experience creating LibGuides.
• Familiarity with SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint Online.
• Experience managing the administrative side of library databases and Serials Solutions.
• Familiarity with copyright and related issues as they support the creation and dissemination of scholarship, such as author's rights, open access, archiving rights, institutional repositories, and scholarly publishing, is preferred.

You will manage to department goals, contribute to department reports, perform risk management, and sponsor department projects. This position reports to a manager in our TSC team.

• Create presentations, reports, and deliverables to support status updates or progress reporting on key initiatives or activities.
• Develop strategic relationships, collaborate with Fiscal Service and FRS business line leadership, and represent the Treasury Support Center in meetings.
• Ensure employees understand and comply with all contact center expectations, performance standards, and policies.
• Manage the recruiting and formal performance management processes for direct reports.
• Identify operational issues or opportunities and suggest possible improvements, including identification of risks and associated mitigations.
• Lead document management efforts for the department including the creation, maintenance, and communication of department procedure documents.
• Support audit engagements directly over the TSC and for TSC supported applications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate education and experience
• 5 years of relevant experience
• 2 years of leadership experience, team building and development
• Experience with relationship management, project management, document management, and change management
• Experience transforming data into information to build recommendations and influence decisions
• Experience making sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information
• Travel (5%)
• Position requires US Citizen or lawful permanent resident with three or more years of US residency
