Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum FAA certifications-
• Commercial and Instrument Airplane certificates.
• Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor Airplane certificates.
• Meet the requirements of FAR 141.36 Assistant Chief Instructor:
• 1,000 hours PIC,
• 500 hours Dual Given,
• 50 hours Simulated Instrument, &
• 1.5 years of Instruction Experience.
• Experience with FARs and Part 141 Pilot School Operations.
• Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate and the ability to maintain it.

Job Description:

Responsible for the safe and effective operation, installation, and maintenance of all building environmental automation control systems on campus. Will also assist with building mechanical systems repair, installation, and maintenance under the direction of the Manager of HVAC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work together and independently to operate, repair, replace, install, and maintain campus HVAC controls, and related systems. This may include, but is not limited to, pumps, fans, air handlers, electronic operators, thermostats, and DDC/pneumatic control systems.
2. Work with department leadership in determining and planning building environmental control needs.
3. Coordinate service, installation, preventative maintenance, or other work with university personnel and/or outside contractors.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Normal working hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. Temporary or permanent reassignment of work schedule may occur to suit the needs of the University.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required. Higher education coursework or trade school preferred.
2. Previous HVAC pneumatic and/or DDC controls experience required. Preference given to those having experience with Honeywell or Utah Yamas systems.
3. Utah Journeyman Electricians License preferred. Must be qualified and competent to run electrical pathways, troubleshoot electrical circuits, understand electrical theory, make electrical connections, install new equipment, and replace electrical and mechanical components.
4. Must be able to work safely with power and hand tools.
5. Demonstrated leadership qualities, strong human relations abilities, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations applicable to the area of responsibility.
7. Attend training and receive certifications related to position, including software training

10. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, in English, both written and verbal, with Facilities Management staff regarding critical information, shift occurrences, work orders, problems, upcoming needs, and tasks beyond the individual's scope and capability.
11. Must have a current Utah Driver's License.

Experience:

1. Minimum of 3 years commercial, light industrial, or university campus building automation, DDC controls operation, or related HVAC experience.
2. Preference given to those with Honeywell or Utah Yamas automation systems experience.
3. Proven ability to complete tasks and assignments with excellent workmanship and code knowledge.
4. Proven outstanding work ethic demonstrated through previous employment or schooling.

Working Conditions:

1. Works indoors or out, in all seasons, often in industrial settings typical to a higher education setting.
2. Must be able to work overhead and in confined conditions and work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms, as required.
3. Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies and reside within 20 minutes of SUU for emergency response.
4. Travels in a university vehicle as required, sometimes overnight.
5. Must be able to adjust work schedule to meet the needs of the university.

venue(s).

- Lighting Technician: Responsible for the execution of lighting on
a daily basis for all assigned productions. Operates lighting
consoles and/or followspot during final rehearsals and
performances.

- FOH Audio Technician: Responsible for setup, operation and
changeover during rehearsals and performances. Duties may include
live mixing of actors and/or orchestra. Also responsible for setup,
maintenance of backstage, intercom, audio and video monitors.
