Qualification
• 5+ years of coaching experience at the club or collegiate level with an interest and passion for developing age group swimmers.
• Member in good standing with USA Swimming and current on all certifications.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment screening and background check

Job Duties
• Serve as lead coach for the Gold and Gold Elite training groups.
• Assist and observe other training groups as necessary.
• This position reports to the Head Coach
• Develop seasonal and practice plans for the Gold and Gold Elite groups.
• Attend all assigned meet sessions and team events.
• Train, develop, and mentor Assistant Coaches to ensure a reliable, cohesive, and positive environment with an emphasis on teamwork and personal growth.
• Develop and implement dryland programs for Age Group Athletes
• Work with the Head Coach to create full-season training plans for stroke technique progression, dryland progression, and training progression for all levels and effectively communicate to swimmers and coaches.

• Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing growth, and marketing strategies and lead communication with new swimmer tryouts.
• Provide a stable, professional, and positive environment for all Condors Swimmers.
• Develop athlete psychology and motivation curriculum, and parent education opportunities.
• Assist in hosting 6-7 competitions per year which include set up and breakdown of the pool and timing system from an off-site location.
• Assist in the development of the meet schedule and pool permitting process for practices.
• Effective communication with parents and swimmers of objectives and goals for athletes.

The BlueFins currently operate practices across multiple pools in the Rochester/Webster... NY area. All club-hosted competitions are held at the Webster Aquatic Center, a state of the art 25 yard / 50 meter pool that routinely hosts LSC and Eastern Zone Championship meets as well as High School, New York State, and College Conference Championship meets.
The Webster Swim Association/Webster BlueFins is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization under the direction of a multi-member Executive Board composed of volunteers, and elected by the club members. It is the largest USA Swimming club in the greater Rochester, NY area, and one of the biggest clubs in the Niagara LSC.
The Webster BlueFins are seeking a Head Coach/CEO. This is a full-time, salaried position that will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Administrative
• Collaboratively create and execute a shared vision for club growth and success with the Executive Board.
• Manage all administrative and water program functions associated with the day to day running club operations.
• Build relationships with area entities to represent and market the BlueFins Swim Club.
• Develop and uphold the organization’s budget.
• Participate in Executive Board meetings monthly, additionally as required.
• Host parent meetings as needed, at least twice per year.
• Set meet schedules for all skill groups with approval from the Executive Board.
• Communicate club activities, requirements and deadlines effectively with parents, swimmers, coaches, and board members.
• Participate in workshops, seminars and training to enhance professional growth.
• Oversee team website and social media accounts.
• Assist and guide high school athletes in the college recruiting process.
• Coordinate with the Executive Board and volunteer sub-committees to: organize travel trips, team spirit parties, team dinners and social functions to promote unity.

On-deck
• Create and implement a development and training plan that is appropriate for each level of competitive swimming.
• Plan and actively conduct on-deck coaching daily.
• Hire, train, supervise, develop and evaluate full and part time staff.
• Attend all scheduled swim meets (1-2 weekends per month), meetings, and team functions as required.
• Arrange and oversee tryouts for new swimmers
• Act as Meet Director (communicate with teams prior to meets, organize meet, coordinate volunteers, recap after).

• Process monthly billing (through TeamUnify) including meet fees and other miscellaneous charges.
• Upload meet results and team records to TeamUnify.
Qualifications of ideal candidate:
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• ASCA Level 3 or higher.
• Minimum of 3 years’ successful experience as a Lead Age Group Coach or higher with a USA Swimming team.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities
• * Identify, recruit, and retain student-athletes and assist in the development of scholarship student-athletes. Interact with student-athlete and family and provide counsel, guidance, and support as necessary while consistent with team philosophy. The incumbent will assist in women’s swimming recruiting program by scouting at meets, etc.
• * Teach skills related to women’s swimming program and implement a thorough, sound, and safe coaching plan.
• * Develop, maintain and foster positive public relations with schools and maintain high level of visibility throughout the communities.
• * Responsible for all travel arrangements, including meals, booking hotels and flights.
• * Assist with procurement, purchasing, facilities management and fund raising for sport program. Assist the Women’s Swimming and Diving Head Coach in all phases of a successful Division 1 intercollegiate program.
• * Maintain accurate recruiting lists and have thorough knowledge of all NCAA and University rules and regulations. Acquire all necessary knowledge to successfully pass the NCAA mandated recruiting exam.
