The Fraud Analyst is a vital role in the Data Analytics Department. Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics (DDA), candidates will leverage their strong technical and communication skills to develop metrics, frameworks, and analytical approaches to better understand the nuance around fraud detection and prevention at TaxSlayer.
We are looking for someone with strong business acumen and exceptional analytical skills to consolidate and enhance TaxSlayer’s tax fraud detection and mitigation strategies for our Consumer and Professional products.
You will work closely with other members in the department as well as with key personnel within the Product, Development, Information Security, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance, and other departments to assist in the development, implementation, and support of all aspects of fraud detection analysis, reporting and prevention.
What You Will Do:
• Support the Fraud team's comprehensive, end-to-end investigations by contributing to the analysis of fraud patterns, trends, and typologies impacting TaxSlayer.
• Additionally, assist in the structuring and organization of large datasets and collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure certain end-to-end investigative steps are completed effectively and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Product and Development teams, to identify emerging threats, collect evidence, and communicate pertinent findings to business leaders, and key stakeholders.
• Support the team’s deep-dive root cause analyses, which is a critical component of each investigation.
• Provide recommendations to fraud leadership regarding gaps and opportunities for improvement of TaxSlayer’s customer authentication policy, and product issues and opportunities, including options to detect and restrict fraudulent accounts earlier in the accounts’ lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Analytics and domain leadership in the development of KPIs to assess effectiveness of policies and operational processes.
• Leverage complex analyses to support broad education and strategy development on Fraud Risk.
• Collaborate with business leaders and other stakeholders across the TaxSlayer ecosystem
What We Need:
A combination of strong analytical skills, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and solid understanding of technical interpretation of detection, prevention, and reporting requirements.
• Bachelor's degree, MS or greater in quantitative field of study (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics) or Equivalent Experience Required. Financial Services Industry Highly Preferred.
• 3+ years experience querying, visualizing, and presenting data.
• Strong experience navigating complex data systems using SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience working with cloud-computing platforms such as Snowflake, dbt, etc.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong analytical skill developing dashboarding on platforms like PowerBI, and/or Tableau.

Role Overview
The Front End Developer - Content will be responsible for front end development of web content and system integrations to ensure seamless customer experiences and conversion rate optimization. To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for customer-facing digital experiences and previous experience with .NET 5 or later with ASP.NET Core MVC, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, and an understanding of HTTP/REST.

Role Overview
The Front End Developer - Content will be responsible for front end development of web content and system integrations to ensure seamless customer experiences and conversion rate optimization. To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for customer-facing digital experiences and previous experience with .NET 5 or later with ASP.NET Core MVC, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, and an understanding of HTTP/REST.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
• Writing clean code to support delivery and easy authoring of pages and components alongside a modern CMS platform.
• Ensuring high-performance and scalable web page delivery to meet load tests and modern web best practices (i.e., Core Web Vitals).
• Develop, debug, and implement experiments (A/B or multivariant tests) that lead to improved business outcomes and customer experiences.
This includes collaborating within the software development lifecycle with business stakeholders, design and creative resources, and other subject matter experts for SEO, QA, analytics, and development.
This role will work across IT, development, design, business intelligence, product, marketing, and customer service to unify our digital experiences, delight our customers, and improve business objectives. In addition to working with nearly every internal department, the Full Stack Engineer - Content and Experimentation will align with external partners to increase CMS and experimentation platform feature adoption.
Responsibilities
• Develop Content Management System solutions for multiple websites
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices and ensuring it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, operating systems, and regulations such as accessibility and security.
• Create website layout/user interfaces and perform website updates by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
• Customize the CMS authoring interface and features for unique business use cases.
• Create and maintain documentation and assist in updating application development policies to ensure that all future applications meet the latest standards and requirements.
• Coordinate with content designers to optimize and create new content for our websites.
• Contribute to feature specifications, user stories, technical designs, training, and documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with fellow team members iteratively through the stages of development, QA, launch, and maintenance.
• Deploy A/B and multivariant tests and personalized experiences to improve user experience and key conversion goals.
• Troubleshoot front-end performance issues using JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering/Software or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience with .NET 5 or later with ASP.NET Core MVC, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, , and understanding of HTTP/REST API.
• Experience working with any traditional CMS platform but particularly Optimizely or EPiServer. Certifications in respective platforms a bonus, but not required.
• Familiarity with modern web design principles and modular component design (responsive design, mobile first, progressive enhancement, design systems, etc.)
• Understanding of accessibility, performance, and technical SEO best practices and ability to implement these standards in code.
• Good understanding in software development engineering principles, frameworks and technologies including exposure to Agile development in a scrum team environment. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and work with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and prioritize work as it relates to the needs of the business and the seasonality of the industry.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
