About the Tech Skills Fellowship Program
AOT’s Tech Skills Annual Fellowship Cycle is designed to provide high quality and tech-specific education for AOT college-aged alumni to prepare them for internships and careers in the technology field. We partner with corporations for specific skill verticals where students learn the basics of one of the following topics:
Product Management
Data Science
Digital Marketing
Cybersecurity
User Experience (UX) Design
In each program vertical, students will build projects to hone their skill set and engage in a curriculum designed in partnership with the teaching experts at AOT and industry leaders. This program will culminate in projects and hands-on learning to prepare students for a career in their focus area of choice.
Our Tech Skills Fellowship instructor will work with 1 cohort of 25 students who meet once a week for 1.5 hours. The cohort will be made up of college students ranging in age from freshman to seniors.
The ideal candidate for Cybersecurity Instructor will:
Be available Tuesday from 4pm-5:30pm EST from February 12, 2024 - April 19, 2024 + an additional 2 hours/week for preparation and assessment and optional student office hours
Lead a one-day (about 4-5 hours) session where students will install Linux and Windows prior to the start of the fellowship.
Have the knowledge and the ability to deliver high quality Cybersecurity lessons using SANS curriculum
Attend a 1-hour orientation with AOT in preparation for the fellowship and the installation session
Assess student projects and assignments using AOT-developed rubrics
Complete mid and post-program surveys to assess program and report on instructor experience
Sync regularly with Program Manager to discuss program impact and to troubleshoot any challenges
Commit- All sessions must be attended in order for the students to receive a seamless, high quality experience.

We are currently looking for exciting and engaging Digital Marketing instructors to deliver the digital marketing sessions of our Tech Flex Leaders program using the AOT Digital Marketing curriculum. The Tech Flex Leaders (TFL) Program is an immersive out-of-school time program for juniors and seniors enrolled in a New York City, Los Angeles, or Miami high school. This program engages students interested in technology through weekly technical training sessions taught by industry experts, intersectional professional development sessions designed to prepare students to confidently pursue degrees and careers in technology, and career days and mentorship opportunities with representatives from leading technology companies.
Technical sessions are held virtually over Zoom and in-person. This is a great opportunity for a career technologist looking to inspire the next generation of technology leaders. Successful candidates are solutions-oriented, data loving, entrepreneurial and passionate about education.
TFL Instructors will report to the NY Program Director and work closely with the NY Program Team to ensure high-quality instruction.
Instructor Responsibilities:
• Attend a 1-hour virtual onboarding session on Wednesday, January 10th from 5:30-6:30 PM EST
• Commit to 5 hours/week per cohort, including instructional time, optional student office hours, and prep/planning time PER cohort
• 2 cohorts available
• Instruct all sessions of the AOT Digital Marketing curriculum on Mondays from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST and/or Thursdays from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST.
