The Information Technology Technician is responsible for installing an maintaining computer hardware, software and networks for residential and commercial clients.
The Information Technology Technician reports to the Operations Manager and provides hardware and maintenance, repair, training, consultation and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating systems and networks
• Be familiar with all hardware and software
• Be familiar with all networks operating systems
• Train clients and staff about potential uses of existing technology
• Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
• Train clients and staff about new and potential use
• Provide individual training and support on request
• Provide recommendations about accessing information and support
• Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
• Troubleshoot all technology issues
• Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
• Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
• Research current and potential resources and services
• Provide network access to all staff and students
• Install work stations, servers, peripherals and network equipment
• Connect and set up hardware
• Install software
• Provide network accounts and passwords as required
• Monitor security of all technology
• Install and maintain passwords
• Maintain networks
• Advise staff of security breaches or changes in security status
• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal
• Ensure data wiped on decommissioned equipment
• Pickup, drop-off, and transport equipment
• Frequently discuss technology services provided by CTAG.
• All other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Hold a current CompTIA A+ (or greater) Certification
• Information Technology Technician must have proficient knowledge in the following areas;

Email and internet programs

Excellent time management skills and prioritization is needed to ensure successful completion of required tasks.
Sensory and Mental Demands- Sensory demands include use of the computer, which may cause eyestrain and occasional headaches. The office may be noisy and busy making it difficult to concentrate. The Tier 1 Technical Nerd deals with a very stressful and demanding environment as many of the clients are frustrated and require immediate services.
