Overview:
WCBS-TV, the #1 station in the Paramount portfolio of owned and operated stations, is in search of an innovative and collaborative Newsroom Media and Tech Manager to lead all aspects of video assets and innovate how content is captured, shared, and maintained.
The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, multi- platform news environment managing the high traffic intersection of news gathering, technology and production.
Responsibilities include:
• Assume end to end responsibility for newsroom media workflow, including developing a phenomenal media workflow for the modern, multi-platform newsroom
• Daily maintenance/management of critical media servers
• Help in identifying and implementing new technologies appropriate for day-to-day tech/media management in the newsroom
• Assist in trouble shooting and resolving tech issues in the newsroom and edit bays
• Work closely with station maintenance department on newsroom I.T. and media management, especially during emergencies
• Must understand the ethics of newsgathering and collaborate with news management to deliver quality, balanced reports.
• Scheduling of staff of transmission operators and multi-platform editors
• Must be able to maintain a collaborative demeanor under deadline pressure
• Assisting or advancing tech issues to appropriate resource, whether opening a ticket or referring to IT/maintenance
• Assist with mobile tech management
• Collaborate with corporate information technology regarding problem solving and new process implementation
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years major market experience
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with editing systems including Grass Valley, Adobe, Avid, FCP
• Proficient in traditional and latest field acquisition technologies
• Experience with feed intake room
• Experience with desktop editing
• Proficient at I-News a plus
• Working knowledge of Sony CI, Dropbox. Google Drive and other large-file cloud based management systems
• Experience with content management systems
• Working knowledge of the latest post-production delivery systems
• Must be available for flexible hours including occasional nights, weekends and during breaking News coverage.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $110,500.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. Opportunity Identification - Identify future opportunities and capabilities to enhance the technology experience. Seek feedback from the brand partner and monitor industry trends and best practices to identify areas of improvement and innovation for our technology offerings. Drives efforts around scenario and root cause analysis, feasibility studies, executive summary and business goals. Collaborates with internal and external technological solutions to source efforts or create ideas that will drive innovative business solutions. Monitors and ensures that all technology goals and objectives are met after implementation of business case, and applies consistent set of value metrics to identify results, success and learning against objectives
Proactive Communication - Lead proactive communications to brand partners to share pertinent details of installs, releases, maintenance, and other relevant updates. Keep the brand partners informed of any changes or updates that may affect their technology operations and ensure that they are prepared and supported throughout the process. Actively engages in a thorough understanding and education of all areas of IT in order to be the primary source of IT functional knowledge. Leverages insights to convey key messages and influence outcomes across internal senior management and external brand partner senior management.
Peak Season Readiness - Facilitate peak season readiness plans and execution with the brand partner. This involves assessing and communicating any potential risks, developing contingency plans, and ensuring that all technology systems and processes are ready and optimized for peak season demand.
Incident Management Liaison - Serve as a conduit for the retail brand partner and Incident Management teams, effectively communicating, track and follow any major and non-major incidents or issues that may arise in a timely manner. Drives process with department SMEs to thoroughly diagnose issues
Point of Escalation - Act as the internal and Brand Partner point of escalation for any technology-related concerns. This involves communicating the status of the issue promptly, escalating when necessary, and maintaining a high level of customer service. Applies solid Bread Financial business and operational knowledge to proactively address Department technology needs, and engages key contacts within IT for problem resolution. Minimum Qualifications:

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. The Information Technology Professional provides a variety of information and communication technology support services for UVM students, faculty, and staff and other affiliates. Responsibilities include research and implementation of solutions of institution-wide impact; project leadership; general and specialized software and networking support and problem resolution; and helping clients learn about information technology through several modes of teaching and publication. Specialize in one or more areas, such as networking, a productivity software suite, an operating system, mobile devices, multimedia and specialized or advanced applications. Serve as second-level support for Help Line consultants and provides service coordination for the IT needs of students, faculty, staff, and users of classrooms, conference rooms and computer labs. In addition to the incumbent's office, work is performed at client sites, by telephone, through electronic communication, and as needed, in high-volume settings such as the Computer Clinic and Help Line.
Minimum Qualifications (or Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience)
Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field and three years of related experience to include support experience with common workstation, server, and host applications (e.g., electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet) and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Macintosh, Linux) in an Internet-connected networked environment; support experience with software or networking in areas of specialization; support experience with client network configuration using protocols in use at UVM ; and experience with network and information systems security knowledge and practical application experience required. Effective customer service focus, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to work successfully with technical and nontechnical personnel, required. Effective organizational and time management skills required. Ability to determine appropriate relative priorities of multiple support requests and projects and to maintain communication with clients concerning expectations and timelines required.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology in the Office of Computing and Instructional Work at the Columbia School of Social Work (CSSW) and working closely with the entire Office of Computing and Instructional Technology team, the Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) is responsible for providing AV and multimedia support for classes and activities for the Columbia School of Social Work.
Responsibilities
• Respond to in-person, email, and telephone requests for assistance and/or support for basic AV technology services to video recording to more complex services (e.g., live streaming and hybrid events).
• Assist with the management and maintenance of audio visual and related equipment, including devices used in audio and video technology, video conferencing systems, live web-based systems, and other technologies used by the School’s AV department.
• Maintain thorough documentation of issues and solutions, ensuring timely resolution of problems. Keep meticulous notes and seek guidance from a supervisor when needed.
• Participate in maintaining a knowledge base solution for supported products and applications used in the School.
• Write documentation and FAQs to assist faculty and staff with audio, visual, and video-conferencing and communication needs.
• Stay current with emerging instructional technologies and evolving AV related standards.
• Assist in the development and teaching of workshops on commonly used AV applications, instructional technology tools, and equipment that is used in the classroom and conference rooms.
• Proactively identify and recommend instructional technology solutions to address unmet needs and add value while taking initiative in driving their implementation.
• Participate in program event-planning meetings. Work collaboratively with the School’s Director of Facilities and Columbia Facilities, Student Services, Office of Academic Affairs, etc.
• Available to work 2 to 4 weekend days per month and be available during evenings on occasion and as needed to provide event coverage.
