Role: TeleGeography is hiring summer interns to conduct research and database updates in support of several of our research products. Responsibilities include:
• Survey collection, gathering primary data through both email and phone correspondence.
• Research on international network infrastructure development and business communications services.
• Database management, conducting extensive updates of inter-related company datasets.

Requirements: We’re looking for current undergraduate/graduate students with the following qualifications.
• An inquisitive and analytical mind.
• Strong research acumen and demonstrated strength in detail-oriented work.
• Adeptness at navigating databases and spreadsheets with an eye for data analysis.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Foreign language skills are a plus, as much of the research will be conducted with companies outside the U.S.

This year’s TeleGeography internship will be conducted in a hybrid office/remote work setting. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to work in our D.C. office, but we will consider exceptional candidates who are fully remote.

What do we need from you? Interns conduct extensive company surveys and research data center facilities, operations, and enterprise data services. Their work directly contributes to the core research used in our Data Center Research Service and Business Broadband Research Service products. Sought-after qualities include:
• Strong research acumen, particularly in conducting in-depth internet research with an international reach.
• Adeptness at navigating databases and spreadsheets with an eye for data analysis.
• Engaging and effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated strength in detail-oriented work.
• Skill in making quick and reasoned judgment calls.
• Foreign language abilities are a plus, as much of the research will be conducted with companies outside the U.S.
