Overview

Applerouth is a group of passionate educators seeking Test Prep Tutors excited to work at a growing educational services company. Founded in 2001, we have created a supportive and dynamic learning environment that fosters growth and success for our students. New tutors go through paid training to provide them with extensive knowledge of both the SAT and ACT, as well as pedagogical strategies to help tutor different types of students. That's why we keep our focus fixed on building better learners for life.

We expect applicants to have the following: Empathy, Creativity, Strong communication skills, and a desire to help others; Reliable transportation; High-speed internet; Prior tutoring/teaching experience is a plus!

Requirements
• SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores
• At least one year of College
• Access to reliable transportation. Many sessions will take place in students' homes or a mutually amenable location.

Required Education/Experience:

- minimum of a 4-year bachelor's degree (graduate level preferred)

- minimum of 1 year of classroom teaching experience or two years alternative experience (e.g. tutoring)

- Additional requirements: laptop computer, basic computer skills, passion for teaching and education, strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to engage and inspire learners, warm and friendly disposition.

$30/hour is our minimum starting rate. Rates depend on experience and skills as well as level of tutoring conducted - higher levels of tutoring demand a higher rate of pay. Pay goes up to $40.

Long TermOpportunities - Peak is always interested in hiring experienced educators that can ultimately train to become a Director of Education at a Peak location. The Dir. Ed. continues to work with students but also takes on the day to day operations of the business (not bookkeeping). Only the most exceptional team members are considered for this position, of course. Directors basically are their own bosses and earn a base salary, plus hourly rates with their work with students, plus bonuses. It's a very rewarding and potentially very lucrative position. In short, we like to promote from within; so, teachers that demonstrate drive along with exceptional ability can eventually run their own location or even multiple locations as Peak grows.
