This position will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including marketing, product, growth, and merchandising teams to execute against established priorities and goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Site and Consumer Experience Operations. What You'll Do You will be responsible for ensuring our consumers are able to discover what they are looking for, and maybe even sometimes, surprisingly, what they are not. This will include assisting in the creation of a clear and engaging site taxonomy, identifying product attributes for filtering, ensuring appropriate search and category page optimization, and merchandising of key landing pages. You will recommend and help drive product enhancements to further enhance the shopping experience. The Grommet is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to help take the team to the next level. The successful candidate will have data analysis experience and be looking to contribute to data-oriented solutions across the company. The role will be responsible for the team's ad hoc analysis, reporting, prioritizing multiple data requests from multiple teams and leading team projects. A new growth area and major focus for the team in 2021 will be around customer behavior insights to partner with the product team for enhancing our ecommerce website. Key Activities

Tactical & Strategic Vision
• Manage the recurring and ad hoc responsibilities of the team to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports
• Work with several complex relational databases and other data sources to build complex SQL queries, combine data sets, troubleshoot data problems, produce dashboards, reports, and slide presentations

Required Experience
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, economics, business, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or a similar discipline or experience; an advanced degree in any of these fields are a plus
• 5+ years of related professional work experience; data analyst, web analytics, data warehousing, financial analyst, or other analytical roles required
• 3+ years experience managing and mentoring high performing teams
• Background building interactive dashboards and data visualization in tools such as Looker, Tableau, Domo, Periscope, or Redash, etc.
• Experience with tracking and reporting on customer behavior in an ecommerce environment
• Expert proficiency in SQL and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies or languages
• Experience working with large and complex datasets
• Experience with data modeling, data management, and data warehousing concepts
• Relative familiarity of data environments - including data warehousing, data pipelines, and ETL techniques
• Experience with data governance and data management approaches
• Experience with ecommerce or other online customer-centric behavioral data

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for cross-team communication and data requirement gathering
• Ability to take ownership of projects and sees them through to a successful completion

Desired Experience
• Experience in online marketing disciplines, Google Analytics data, with a strong emphasis on customer segmentation and attribution models, a plus
• Working knowledge of Python, R, or any other programming language
• Topical understanding of web technologies (like APIs and HTTP) and/or popular web formats (like JSON and HTML)
