Our Talent & Culture department is seeking an HR Associate to join the team! In this... role, you'll be surrounded by passionate people driven with purpose: to ignite a spark in the minds of the next generation of thinkers, makers and innovators that will change our world. The HR Associate is responsible for the administrative role within Talent & Culture (T&C) as well as the first line of welcome to all our colleagues and volunteers who visit our office.

Essential Responsibilities
• Assist staff with the day-to-day support of Talent & Culture administrative needs such as Dayforce (navigating Dayforce, resetting passwords, updating personal data, etc.); supports T&C reception area, assist with badges and other staff/volunteer/contractor needs as necessary.
• Monitor the Talent and Culture mailbox, respond to emails when appropriate or forward them to the correct Talent & Culture member. Maintain the calendar for the Vice President of Talent and Culture as well as departmental meetings. Respond to scheduling requests for the Talent & Culture conference room.
• Work closely with the Director of Organizational Development during orientation classes. This includes but is not limited to preparing the orientation packets; welcome new hires on the first day of orientation; compile/order/pick up lunch order for the first day of orientation.
• Work closely with the HR Coordinator, the HRIS Data and Report Analyst, and new hires on new hire paperwork, especially in preparation of/the day of orientation.
• Process all unemployment claims in keeping with government regulations, including required forms, reports and determination letters for each claimant. Auditing weekly unemployment claims received by claimants (verifying earnings received for weeks that claimant is claiming a benefit), protesting claims as needed. Work with HR Management when a representative must attend an unemployment hearing.
• Maintain the active employee Ford Motor Company A-Plan information.
• Notify HR Management of any new HR laws and order labor law posters as needed.
• Maintain the Michigan Department of State/Bureau of Driver and Vehicle records for employees that drive the Model T's (initial set up, changes and deletion).
• Coordinate the semiannual assignment of lockers assigned to staff, paid & unpaid as well as Academy Students.
• Balance the cash box for replacement ID Badges and deposits cash and checks with the Cash Office.
• Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Your Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Some Saturdays will be required in the spring and summer; based on orientation schedule

Preferred Qualifications & Special Skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
• College coursework or degree preferred
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Customer service mindset
• Discretion, tact and the ability to handle confidential information

The Curator of Black History manages and participates in the growth, research, and... interpretation of The Henry Ford's Black history collections. These collections aim to document the breadth of the Black experience in the United States-socially, politically, and creatively. The person in this role will also participate in exhibition and program development, particularly via community engagement and outreach. Additionally, the Curator of Black History contributes to the creation of curated content in digital and physical forms. This role reports to the Vice President of Historical Resources & Chief Curator.

• Maintains deep and broad understanding of significant American objects, stories, and lives that are relevant to the programming and collecting initiatives of The Henry Ford.
• Maintains deep and broad understanding of major collection areas and keeps abreast of the latest scholarship on historical and material culture issues relating to those collections.
• Develops collections plans that align strategically with the mission and the vision of The Henry Ford.
• Works with the Chief Curator and other curators to develop collections.
• Guided by the collections plans, is responsible for growing and editing the collections in an ethical and legal manner.
• Identifies key artifacts for acquisition by the institution through the active cultivation of donors and other potential sources.
• Analyzes new acquisitions using current knowledge and understanding of material culture to ensure they are authentic and genuine.
• Guides conservation, collections management, and registrars to prioritize and recommend treatments, accessibility, and cataloging based on exhibit needs, programmatic use, and online access.

• Responsible for cataloging collections, including writing narratives for online presentations according to specified deadlines.
