Job Description
The IET instructor assists the Technical Instructor by providing academic
support within the specific Integrated Education & Training program. Duties
include, but are not limited to: assess students' basic skills; facilitate
learning lab opportunities to aid students' preparation for certification
exams; maintain accurate attendance records and submit in a timely manner;
proctor assessments; and ensure classroom management in a positive learning
environment.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides academic support within the specific IET Program.
2. Facilitates technical instruction.
3. Provides aid to students, preparing for exam certification.
4. Administers tests and ensures classroom management and a positive learning
environment.
5. Assesses students' basic skills needs of learning.
6. Offers content review and maintains accurate attendance records.
7. Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
3. Excellent communication skills including active listening.
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
6. Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism while maintaining
patience and understanding in stressful situations.
7. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and
ethnicities.

• Offer student learners a streamlined opportunity to transition from adult basic education classes to employment and/or postsecondary educational opportunities
• Train students to prepare them for their careers in the military
• Initial training is to turn civilian recruits into fully trained soldiers by inculcating values, standards, and to provide them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for their specific job/role
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
• Quality instructor performance capable of ascertaining the level of the class's knowledge and teaching at the appropriate level
• Possession of a pertinent qualification
• Comprehensive experience as a workforce development instructor
• Proficient in adult-centered instructional methods.
• Experience conducting early educational interventions
• Exceptional verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates a high level of professional management in performing training activities and facilitating classroom environments all times
• Maintains regular class schedule
• Adheres to a zero-tolerance policy of inappropriate language at all times.
• Class schedule is managed in accordance with course curriculum outlines.
• Manages a safe, comfortable training environment, ensures sufficient materials are available, and resolves disruptive student behavior
