Summary:

Collects, documents and reacts to industry trends, market conditions and competition.
Documents statistical data on economic impact and conversion studies, and track business through hotel reports.
Maintains a good product knowledge through a printable, active current database of area hotels, attractions, recreation venues, and special event.
Identifies and encourages local citizens with state, regional and national affiliations to invite their group to meet in Villa Rica.
Develops and monitors market-driven ads, flyers, brochures and promotional material; Plans trips for the news media and familiarization (FAM) tours for tour operators; Utilizes special activities, events and projects to promote Villa Rica; Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills Required by the Position:
Knowledge Convention and Visitor Bureau operations and current practices in the tourism industry, specifically in similar-sized jurisdictions; Ability to remain current on the latest technological advances in tourism; Ability to interface directly with the public and facilitate and negotiate; and recognize and capitalize on opportunity; and Ability in supervising assistants and working with other members of the City staff and the community.
Proficiency in web development software, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or other design programs.
Proficiency with various social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
Organizational and time efficiency skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Ability to consistently meet deadlines and complete tasks with accuracy; Ability to works effectively under pressure and with frequent interruptions; Ability to take initiative in performing job functions.
