At this time, STAR has an open position for an Engineering Manager (full-time, exempt). This role is critical in providing leadership to the Production... Engineers, CNC Programmers and Production Department to ensure projects progress effectively and efficiently, meeting deadlines and client expectations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and develop Production Engineer, CNC Programming and Production departments.
• Proactive management of workflow and procedures
• Provide direction regarding resource capacity based on sales projections.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams in a professional, solutions-based and customer service focused manner.
• Work closely with the Director of Manufacturing on strategic initiatives to promote a world class organization.
• Manage direct reports promoting a culture of accountability and positivity.

The ideal candidate for this job will possess a collaborative spirit, a commitment to exceeding client expectations, fanatical attention to detail, and an exceptional ability to manage assigned tasks and timelines.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Engineering Management, tradeshow or retail fixture experience preferred.
• Ability to understand AutoCAD blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with cabinetmaking
• Experience managing direct reports and outside vendors.
• Big picture mindset

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Collaboration with Business Development and Creative teams on design concerns and materials selections, value engineering, and pricing strategies that will position STAR to win projects.
• Establish and produce cost estimates for proposals, integrating design, graphics, production and services
• Researching new materials and vendors for a given project
• Lead and provide work direction and guidance to supporting team (Production Engineer, CAD Engineer, Lead Builder, Production Manager, Graphic Project Manager, along with outside vendors as needed).
• Manage the planning, organization, documentation, estimates, timelines, and tasks of projects in partnership with Project Management
• Researching new materials and vendors
• Ensure effective project handoff from estimating to Production Engineering
• Complete AutoCAD drawings (2D and 3D, technical, graphic, CNC, and setup) for assigned projects in a timely manner
• Actively participate in internal project meetings, including project margin and variance reviews, new business production meetings and project debriefs
• Complete daily reporting responsibilities

Qualifications:
• 2 year degree in drafting / design

• Willingness and ability to work beyond 40 hours per week during peak periods to ensure client needs are met
