Responsibilities
• Coach and develop staff to exceed individual and store productivity goals.

• Assist Store Manager in the selection and hiring of qualified candidates.
• Partner with the Store Manager on the implementation of visual merchandising directives and maintain standards consistent with company brand strategies, ensure merchandise on the selling floor is replenished appropriately.
• Partner with the Store Manager to ensure compliance and adherence to loss prevention and safety policies and procedures, standards and practices, and company directives.
• Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others, while upholding the integrity and values of the VF Corporation and the brand.
• Promotes an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by sharing best practices and building on the ideas of others

What You Bring

Required
• 3 or more years of store leadership experience in a fast-paced, highly engaging retail environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Effective communication skills, including both written and verbal
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales results
• Proven ability to meet business goals by driving results through store team
• Excellent decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment
• Detail orientated and excellent organization skills
• Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and software programs
• Proven ability in leading the delivery of a high level of customer service in a retail environment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience leading and developing a team of 20 or more associates
• Experience in a specialty retail environment, outdoor apparel industry or experience with outdoor equipment sales
• Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

What You Will Do

The Lead Guide will direct, develop and motivate a team of brand advocates, ensuring a consistent best in class customer experience that aligns with our brand purpose and values. The Lead Guide partners with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring that customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection are all consistent and in compliance with company standards. You will assume an active role in your own cross functional development through the brand’s quarterly DOR rotations and Module- Based Leadership Training Program.

• Brand Experience/Customer Experience: Coaches and develops staff to exceed individual and store productivity goals; coaches and develops staff to provide exceptional customer service by building a loyal customer base, understanding customer needs and engaging customers in conversation around The North Face products, activities and local community; acts as a Customer Experience Coach (Manager on Duty) and supervises floor coverage and activities, including opening and closing store as scheduled; achieves individual productivitygoals.
• TrainingandCoachingTeam:in partnership withStoreManager, provides the leadership to ensure thorough training and ongoing development of store staff in customer engagement, product and activity based knowledge and all company programs, policies and procedures; monitor and maintain compliance of all company policies and procedures and communicate/educate all team members; fosters an environment of development and accountability

• Visual Merchandising: partners with the Store Manager on the implementation of visual merchandising directives and maintains standards consistent with company brand strategies;ensuresmerchandiseonsellingfloorisreplenishedappropriately.
• Loss Prevention, Safety, and Compliance: Partners with the Store Manager to ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices, and company directives. Protects company assets. Ensures compliance with company safety, security, and shrink avoidance policies and programs. Partners with Loss Prevention partners to identify trends and translate strategies into action to meet district and company shrink goals. Reacts quickly to all customer and employee injuries and partners with Store Manager, District Manager and Human Resourcesimmediately.

The primary responsibility of The North Face Brand Specialist Exploration Ambassador is to create excitement and drive traffic & conversion in The North Face shops. Customer Service:
• Ensure high levels of consumer satisfaction through ‘class of our own’ customer service during key selling times
• Become an expert on TNF products, technology, and seasonal Public Lands assortments
• Assess customer needs & make product recommendations to support their end use and style
• Drive sales with product knowledge & genuine enthusiasm
• Partner with local TNF Tech Rep to facilitate seasonal product/brand clinics for store staff
• Serve as primary point of contact for TNF product & technology inquires in assigned door
• Provide local consumer feedback & insight on new products and other merchandise
• Represent the brand positively in all settings

Visual Presentation:
• Drive sales through execution of compelling visual presentations
• Consistently maintain all visual presentation standards as outlined by TNF and Public Lands leadership
• Lead seasonal floor set execution with support of Public Lands teammates
• Ensure all VM collateral is received & intact; Communicate any concerns with appropriate TNF Marketing
• Take initiative to identify key styles, make VM recommendations to maximize sales & improve turn of slow sellers
• Maintain TNF VM supplies in a neat & efficient manner
• Organizing and displaying of The North Face merchandise to company standards Drive sales

Community Engagment:
• Drives sales through meaningful community engagement
• Build, organize, execute quarterly grassroots in-store activations to drive traffic and create energy
• Serve as primary brand liaison and on-site point of contact for corporate activations
• Build & maintain active, local client records; Engage client book to drive traffic
• Generate brand awareness through word-of-mouth marketing Drive sales

Administrative:
• Complete comprehensive weekly shop report including sales recap, photos of VM execution and community engagement updates
• Complete comprehensive recap of all executed activations
• Complete seasonal roll up including sales download, VM highlights and activation learnings
• Complete all assigned customer service & product trainings; attends required store meetings & clinics
• Will perform these & other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Success Profile:
• 1-3 years of retail management experience required.
• World-class customer service skill and interpersonal/communication skills
• Completed coursework in visual merchandising, design or fashion merchandising or comparable in-store merchandise presentation experience.
• Proved working experience in retail sales.
• True passion for the outdoors and getting others outside. Knowledge of issues pertaining to the environment and public lands, or willingness to learn
