We are looking for a Javascript Developer to take part in the continual development of all our publications; while focusing specifically on web applications that give our creatives better access to information about
eir work.
As developer at Thought & Expression Co, your work has the rare opportunity to be both immediately relevant by reaching millions of users, and permanently significant to readers of our print

This is a full-time position as part of our development team. The team is based out of our Brooklyn office, however candidates within the United States who wish to work remotely are also we

• Work closely with our Technology Lead to build web applications in your prefered Javascrip
• evelopment stack.
• Complete version one of an application currently in development related to T
• ght Catalog Books.
• Assist in planning and developing an application related to metrics across a
• our web properties.
• Create automated procedures to re
• ce monotonous tasks.
• Oversee integration with syndication services and publishing platforms to ensure our content maintains its uniform quality as it trav
• across the internet.
• Participate in quality assurance fo
• ll our web properties.
• Write code documentation, feature announcements or
he occasional
• post.
• Qualifications*
• Ability to develop an application using a complete stack of Javascript tools. Our current applications are built using MEAN stack, however developers who use the React or Meteor framewo
• are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with creation and use of RESTful APIs. Including a basic understanding of URL routing, JSON formatting, authorization
• hods, and error messaging.
• Experience with version control, package management a
• related tools of the trade.
• Excellent grasp of object modeling as it applies to
• I and database interactions.
• Ability to estimate the time and sch
• le requirements of your work.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills; after
