About The Role
As our Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, you’ll be responsible for influencing leaders and executing on strategies to increase representation, drive high engagement, and grow our people. The DEI team is a part of the People Partnership & Development (PPD) team, which also includes HR Business Partners and Organizational Development. PPD is responsible for enabling Thumbtack to achieve its business goals by fostering high-performing, engaged, inclusive teams. Our team is considered a strategic partner to the business and the teams within PPD collaborate closely, including how we set roadmaps and how each team influences the processes and programs of the other teams. This role oversees the DEI team and reports to the Senior Director, People Partnership & Development, a member of the People Leadership Team, and is virtual-first, in line with our Future of Work vision.
Responsibilities
• Own, evolve and drive the implementation of Thumbtack’s DEI strategy, including how we embed and mature our DEI practices for everything that touches the employee lifecycle (e.g. recruiting, analytics, learning and development, performance management, recognition, succession)
• Create impact through DEI goal-setting and the strategic use of DEI data, improving our infrastructure for accountability and how we track progress towards goals
• Support and influence recruiting strategies and best practices including recruitment marketing, selection process, and employer brand initiatives, in partnership with our Recruiting team
• Build and lead engagement and development initiatives, in partnership with our Org Dev team
• Liaise with and integrate our vibrant Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) into our overall DEI strategy and goals
• Strategically select and oversee external partners to augment our DEI efforts, in addition to maintaining knowledge related to emerging policies and practices, to push our thinking and to help us drive change
• Manage a small team, allocating resources and priorities accordingly

• *About the Pro Acquisition Team**
The Pro Acquisition team is responsible for bringing more pros to Thumbtack. This team uses various product surfaces including the landing pages and the onboarding flow to optimize new pro sign up. We are the face of the company responsible for the first interactions a Pro has on Thumbtack and are responsible for making the first impressions. We help pros understand the value of Thumbtack, sign up, and help them become successful on Thumbtack. This team is critical to the company’s success and is responsible for keeping the supply of pros healthy. We do this in close partnership with Marketing and Sales, utilizing channels including inbound and outbound sales, organic results in search engines (SEO), search ads (SEM), social ads (e.g. Facebook), and native app installs.
• *About the Role**
Growth is the lifeblood of any startup, and in this role you will be leading the engineering team directly responsible for it. The team is highly interdisciplinary, encompassing engineers with a variety of skill sets including frontend engineering, native mobile, backend engineering and machine learning/optimization. In this role, you’ll not only partner with product, design and marketing leads to develop and execute on a growth strategy for Thumbtack, but also help build critical infrastructure and systems that power that growth and enable the team to move fast.
Responsibilities
- Build and grow an amazing engineering team with a strong culture of balancing excellence with moving fast. The team is currently ~7 engineers and growing quickly.
- Work with engineering leads within the team as well as cross functional leads (including product, marketing, analytics and design) to craft a compelling vision and long term strategy for growth.
- Set the team up for excellence in execution and anticipate and plan ahead for infrastructure the team needs to build for long term success. This infrastructure could be backend systems, machine learning models, frontend infrastructure for fantastic pagespeed, or experimental infrastructure to enable rapid testing and prototyping of onboarding flows within our native apps.

About the Role
As Thumbtack strives to build a branded destination for home management services, we need to meet new customers where they are. The Growth Marketing Manager, SEM will lead Thumbtack's efforts to capture customer demand for local services, while working with Analytics to calculate lifetime value and payback targets, partnering with Engineering to build data pipelines that support bid automation and new tools for ad creation at scale, and collaborating with the larger Growth Marketing team to build effective full-funnel marketing programs.

About the Role
We are looking to build an amazing mobile experience for hundreds of thousands of users. Can you imagine what you might do if you could run your business from your phone? If you could hire a service provider at any time day or night with just a few taps? The sky's the limit. We develop much of our products mobile first and have seen this investment pay off incredibly. We’re looking for engineers excited to build a fantastic product.
Responsibilities
Drive engineering projects to completion, with a tenacious focus on the business impact of those projects. Skilled at prioritizing tasks to deliver on goals with a sense of urgency.
Execute new ideas quickly and effectively in Android while also being a resource to other teams and engineers.
Willing, when necessary, to solve tough technical problems at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Product and Design to plan and execute on engineering projects
Work on large projects and lead small teams of engineers
Must-Have Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in engineering
Passionate Android engineer who is an expert in building, testing, releasing, and maintaining Android applications
History of shipping consumer focused apps that users love on the Play Store, you can show what you’ve owned
Excited by the potential of mobile technology to transform the lives of small businesses around the country
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with popular 3rd party libraries, frameworks, and services like RxJava, ButterKnife, AutoValue, Retrofit, Dagger, Crashlytics, and Amplitude, including when not to use one
Hands-on experience with Kotlin is a plus!
Strong eye for beautiful design and user experience
Familiarity with Material design principles and components
Great communicator; we find that people who are good writers tend to be great thinkers and great coders
You’re data-driven and dedicated to thorough testing to maintain high-quality software.
Thumbtack is a virtual-first company, meaning you can live and work from any one of our approved locations across the United States, Ontario or the Philippines. When it is safe to gather, we will begin to host in-person events on a regular basis. Remote employees will be expected to travel occasionally for these events to a Thumbtack library or offsite team-building location. In cities with 5+ employees, we are establishing local communities, where employees can gather for local events. Additionally, employees in the San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Toronto and Manila areas will have opt-in access to communal workspace at one of our Thumbtack libraries. We always prioritize the health and safety of our employees. Currently, participation in these events and Thumbtack library use are optional. Both require employees to be fully vaccinated.
