Minimum Qualifications:

The qualifications to be considered as a part-time lecturer (student teaching supervisor) are a minimum of three years teaching experience in PK-12 schools, a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or another teacher related field of study from an accredited institution, demonstrated experience with and knowledge of students from culturally diverse populations, knowledge of state curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy standards, and current certification in the class in which supervision is provided. A field supervisor shall be an accomplished educator as shown by student learning and must be conscientious with meeting deadlines.

Job Description

The Director of Clinical Education for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at Northern Arizona University (NAU) oversees the practicum and externship experiences for students in the Clinical Speech-Language Pathology program. The Director of Clinical Education acts as a liaison between the academic program administration, faculty, training sites, and students.

This is a year-round, 12-month faculty position with administrative duties. The Director of Clinical Education reports to the Department Chair. The successful applicant will join a diverse faculty that is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. NAU is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and as a university with a specific commitment to Indigenous Peoples. As such, we are committed to providing equitable, high impact learning opportunities and to embracing the cultural and linguistic diversity of our region.

The Director of Clinical Education will be responsible for:
• Developing, maintaining, and coordinating all clinical practicum placement sites for graduate students
• Overseeing operations of the NAU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic
• Collaborating with the chair and faculty in delivering a high-quality, evidence-based clinical curriculum
• Maintaining ASHA accreditation standards related to clinical education
• Engaging in clinical teaching and implementing evidence-based teaching techniques
• Overseeing record keeping requirements for all students engaged in clinical experiences
• Communicating information regarding students' clinical progress to the academic department chair and faculty
• Developing clinical performance plans to ensure clinical success for all students

Minimum Qualifications

For the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor:
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and eligibility for licensure in Arizona
• 2 years of clinical experience
• Experience with clinical education
• Meet ASHA continuing education requirements for clinical supervision [earned at least 2 hours of professional development post-certification (one-time requirement) in the area of supervision and/or clinical instruction]

For the rank of Associate Clinical Professor: all of the above, and
• Equivalent of 6 years (12 semesters) of full-time college-level teaching at the rank of assistant clinical professor (or equivalent faculty classification)

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers a Master of Science in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology through a full-time program and a part-time Summers Track program. We also offer an undergraduate degree preparing students for graduate work in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certificate program. We have a fully operational clinic that serves clients across the lifespan. CSD excels in its preparation of Speech-Language Pathology clinicians to become leaders in the profession by participating in a unique blend of coursework, clinical experiences, and research. This is a Faculty (FAC) position. The Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship is AACSB-accredited at the graduate and undergraduate levels and offers a Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing.

This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members. Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU's BCBS Plan). The School of Nursing at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley occasionally has the need to hire non-tenure track Part- Time Lecturer(s) to teach in its Bachelor's and/or Master's programs. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction to students in the classroom, simulated laboratories, and clinical settings

The School of Nursing offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing. These degrees include a traditional BSN and 2nd degree BSN pre-licensure degree, an RN to BSN, along with graduate degrees in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health NP. Our faculty teach on three campuses, in Edinburg, Harlingen and Brownsville. We have full simulation labs that offer state of the art educational opportunities for all our students. We collaborate with the other health science programs at UTRGV on interdisciplinary clinical experiences and work with hospitals throughout the entire Rio Grande Valley. Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas prior to assuming the position.

Department/College Background
The School of Social Work was established in 2018 as an independent School and is under the leadership of Founding Dean Dr. Luis R. Torres-Hostos. The Department of Social Work has existed since the 1970s, most recently as part of Provost- Academic Affairs. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Social Work (SSW) is the only institution to offer programs leading to both the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree and the Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degree south of San Antonio. Both programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). CSWE-COA voted to reaffirm the accreditation of the program for eight years, which extends through February 2023.
The BSW Program prepares students for generalist social work practice. Building on the generalist foundation, the MSSW program focuses on two concentrations: Direct Practice with Latino Individuals, Families, and Groups; and Community Practice and Administration. Its goals are to prepare graduates to practice with diverse, vulnerable, and at-risk populations to promote human well-being and social and economic justice, especially in the Texas-Mexico border region; to prepare graduates for leadership in developing and implementing policies and services for at-risk populations with an emphasis on the Texas-Mexico border region; and to develop the knowledge base of the social work profession, particularly as it relates to addressing the needs of at-risk populations with an emphasis on the Texas-Mexico border region. We offer all MSSW programs in two modalities, traditional on-campus and online. A PhD in Social Work is in the planning stages.

The School of Social Work is committed to preparing generalist and advanced professional social workers to meet the needs of a binational and multicultural community. The educational emphasis is on social work practice with Latinos considering multicultural competence, ethical practice, knowledge building, and social services that promote social and economic justice.

Medical education and research is conducted in the MedStar Health System, which includes the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, as well as within the University. GUMC and MedStar Health, Inc. have a clinical partnership agreement under which MedStar Health owns, operates, and has financial responsibility for Georgetown University's clinical enterprise that includes a hospital, faculty practice group, and a network of community physician practices.

Position Description and Responsibilities

Clinical: The candidate will be involved in all teaching and attending services at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as these are core duties of all Infectious Diseases faculty at Georgetown University. Clinical care includes outpatient Infectious Diseases clinic, and inpatient Infectious Diseases (ID) including general ID, immunocompromised host and transplant ID.

Research: The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, and experience with the use of large clinical and observational data for research. The candidate will be involved with the Georgetown University HIV cohort studies, including the MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study, and the STAR study of young women with and at risk for HIV. The candidate will be expected to develop a research portfolio, preferably with a focus on neurocognition, other common comorbidities seen in persons living with HIV, and their effects on long-term outcomes among people with and at risk for HIV. As a key member of the Georgetown MWCCS and STAR investigators, the individual will lead the hospitalization ascertainment component of these observational cohorts. A strong background in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and demonstrated experience with use of ICD-9/10 codes in translational research evidenced by publications in this field is needed. Georgetown University is a collaborating institution of the DC Center for AIDS Research (DC CFAR); the candidate will be expected to become an active investigator within the DC CFAR, and support the mission of advancing HIV research within the District of Columbia.
