Skills and experience required

This is a role that carries a great deal of responsibility. Therefore, we have a number of key criteria to ensure your success:
• Availability to work in shifts
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work within strict timelines
• Eligibility to work in Canada
• A valid driver's license
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations. Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details.

Conditions of Employment
• Eligible to work in Canada. If you hold a work permit, it must be valid for a minimum of 12 months.
• Eligible candidates must be eligible to work in Canada, possessing a valid driver's license and be available to attend full time training (attendance is mandatory).
• Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibly of the candidates applying for this position.

Job Summary

Leading the way in airport Fine Dining is the Air Canada Signature Suite. The Air Canada Signature Suite is an Awarding Winning, 5-star dining experience in Toronto Pearson International Airport. We are looking for a Highly Motivated, Talented, Team Players to fill the role of Restaurant Manager.

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Restaurant/Bar Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
• Lead a team of Supervisors and Associates; motivate, coach and develop direct reports and front-line staff while considering changing priorities. Focus on service standards and daily SOP execution and guest experience
• Ensure all agreed service specifications are followed and maintained by all associates to enhance the guest experience
• Manage all aspects of the operations including budgeting, financial management, and weekly analysis, in addition to maintaining both client and Compass standards to ensure a safe environment for all Guests and Associates
• Drive revenues and minimize expenses to achieve optimal profits
• Ensure quality control procedures are monitored and maintained and established operating practices are strictly followed
• Ensure customer satisfaction; resolve requests, complaints, and concerns
• Monitor units’ compliance with Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies, and initiate corrective action as required

Think you have what it takes to be our Restaurant/Bar Manager? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful in the role:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Hospitality and/or Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management; advanced FST, Servsafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred
• Experience in a full service restaurant or like operation
• Sommelier certification (perusing or achieved) from WSET or ISG
• Solid experience in fiscal management of multi-million dollar budgets, contracts and project costs
• Awareness of innovative trends in retail food services
• Excellent client relationship and verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and demonstrate working knowledge of food service POS/IT systems
• Available to work week days, evenings and weekends
• Sommelier certification is preferred
