What you might work on:

As a member of the Investment Operations and Compliance team you will manage an engineering team aligned with cross functional responsibilities within the Investments Technology division.

A large portion of this role will be dedicated to coaching individuals to understand data and software engineering technology deliverables. You will act as an accountable party for several complex software development initiatives.
• Manage, lead, mentor and coach software engineers and perform managerial duties as needed.
• Provides input with the Principal Engineer in the decision-making and implementation of platform or application architectures.
• Facilitate delivery of Investment Operations and Compliance roadmaps by leading and managing a team of software engineers.
• Assist in “hands on keyboard” delivery of software.
• Engage with Product Manager and ensure prioritization and software quality delivery expectations are met.
• Participate in design to ensure modern, secure, scalable, best-practice software development and operations.
• Monitor and influence teams to adhere to software (SDLC) and infrastructure engineering standards and best-practices.
• Ensure adherence to TDD methodology and automated testing practices.
• Collaborate with technology engineering leadership to drive enterprise maturity, solve enterprise technology problems, and make collective decisions.
• Champion and participate in pair programming within the engineering team.
• Participate in employee hiring, recruiting efforts and engage with contractors/consultants as a liaison to design and manage extended team configurations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering. A graduate degree in Finance, Technology or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams and performing technical product management
• Experience developing, optimizing, and managing software engineering and development operations
• Experience developing architectural artifacts, process diagrams, writing requirements, and developing software.
• A good understanding of cyber security best practices, and a demonstrated ability to build processes to apply the best practices in the day to day of software development activities.
• Experience in designing and running project scrums teams
• Experience operationalizing complex service offerings
• Experience engineering, monitoring, and optimizing processes
• Experience with public cloud offerings (transitions to cloud-like application architectures preferred)
• Strong grasp of the state of the art in software engineering, SDLC, cloud services, databases, networks, and application architecture (formal certifications preferred)
• Must have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
