About OCCRP

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is a growing, global nonprofit media organization that is reinventing investigative journalism for the public good. By developing and equipping a global network of investigative journalists and publishing their stories, we expose crime and corruption so the public can hold power to account. We see a future where organized crime and corruption are drastically reduced and democracy is strengthened. Our global team includes editors, researchers, data engineers, security specialists, administrators, technologists and strategists, each with areas of in-depth expertise.

Position Overview

OCCRP seeks a program assistant to support our unique collaboration with civil society and other anti-corruption stakeholders – activities that aim to maximize the policy reform, legal cases and other impacts that result from OCCRP reporting. At the center of this work is the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium (GACC), OCCRP’s partnership with Transparency International (TI) that brings together investigative journalism and civil society advocacy to accelerate the fight against corruption.

The person will engage directly with some of the most exciting and impactful anti-corruption work happening in the field today, digging into the content of OCCRP investigations and connecting with journalists and activists from around the world. This is a new position and this person would have the opportunity to help shape the future of GACC and bring new ideas to make the job their own.

The program assistant will support the GACC director and other OCCRP staff to implement activities including: convening investigative and advocacy organizations; coordinating with TI and other partners; assessing the advocacy relevance of OCCRP investigations; expanding the useable information and analysis that emerges from these stories; sharing the experience, lessons and impacts of GACC; and communicating with donors and other key partners.

· Support outreach to civil society organizations interested in OCCRP investigations.

· Monitor and research relevant developments in the anti-corruption field and support GACC responses when appropriate.

· Contribute to reporting on GACC activities, collaborations and impacts.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· A Bachelor’s degree or higher.

· A good understanding of corruption issues and anti-corruption responses.
