Overview:

The Senior Sales Engineer (SE) will be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. The SE will take ownership of the prime technical relationship with our pre-sales customers to help close business by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and via telephone

Responsibilities:

Provide solutions to complex technical issues in the pre-sales capacity

Provide Proof of Concept service to pre-sales customers and help clients with planning and implementation of Trend Micro software products

Channel feature requests to Product Management to enhance Trend Micro products with new features that address customer needs

Participate in alliance projects including building vendor and customers relationships

Participate in Trend Micro beta testing programs including internally testing products in alpha and beta phase

Must be able to provide software/network troubleshooting on complex technical issues

Maintain and expand working knowledge of current and beta (non-released) Trend Micro products

Assist in development of the Knowledge Base

Provide product trainings upon request

Share best practices with other SEs to enhance the quality and efficiency of the other members

Contribute to building the SE Readiness Program and develop Subject Matter Expertise in assigned products and solutions

Must be able to travel regionally (about 30-35%) and perform sales presentations, marketing and user group events, and emergency on-site support to customer locations

Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under minimal supervision to provide detailed technical knowledge of Trend Micro software products in the pre-sales context

Qualifications:

Requires BS degree or equivalent combination of education and SE experience in computer software or systems.

5+ years SE experience and/or professional services experience required

5+ years' experience with Microsoft Windows NT/2000 and/or UNIX (Solaris, Linux) Operating Systems, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, and IIS required

5+ years' experience in computer software or systems including security products (firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection, content security)

2+ years SOC or IR Experience an advantage

Experience with cloud security products

One or more of the following certifications or related experience desired:

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification

CompTIA Security+ Certification

Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

MCSE Certification NT 4.0 or MCSE 2000 Certification

UNIX System Administrator/Solaris Administrator

Certified Lotus Professional (CLP)

CNA or CNE Knowledge

Solid knowledge and technical competence in messaging architecture

Solid knowledge of security technologies Core Skills

Solid multi-tasking and problem resolution abilities

This is a global role and therefore can be based anywhere!

This FTR researcher role will be responsible for focusing on the threats that will affect emerging technologies, in particular on Blockchain based attacks on Smart Contracts, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and the upcoming systems that will be built on top of them. They will also be expected to look into higher layers of the emerging Web such as Web3/Metaverse security concerns, so we are looking for a person passionate about blockchain beyond currency uses.

This role will not be purely focused on the technologies involved, but also combine this by looking at real world attacks that we would expect to see coming from financially motivated criminals and espionage focused targeted attacks / APT in this new web paradigm. The ideal candidate will both have a good understanding of todays cybercrime threat landscape, but also a passion for anything Blockchain-related technologies - and be able to develop research on where we expect new user behavior, technology and criminal business models to evolve to in the period of 1-3 years.

This position requires the researcher to represent Trend Micro in external conferences, either as an attendee or as a speaker.

As the team is globally distributed the successful candidate must be willing to travel for global meetings and conferences.

That role will be part of Trend Micro's Forward Looking Threat Research team (FTR), a global team of Senior Researchers, tasked with scouting the likely future risks in security by researching what:
Cybercriminals are working on today (Underground and Deepweb, Targeted Attacks / APT and Malware research)

How the users / victims are using the web (Social Networks, New emerging services, etc)

What technologies are available now and in the future (e.g. IOT, Web3 / Metaverse, Spread of Mobile OS, Blockchain)

Desired Experiences & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or Higher strongly preferred, or strong self taught and proven skillset.

In-depth knowledge in Blockchain Technologies and tools for security analysis in this space

Good knowledge in DeFi security, product landscape and current attacks
