• Tractor Trailer DriverInternational Paper, a world leader in industrial packaging, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Tractor Trailer Driver at its Container Plant in Mt. Carmel, PA facility.Qualified applicants must have a Class A CDL, excellent driving record, and be able to perform the physical aspects of the job. This position requires regular lifting, loading and pushing/pulling. A pre-employment physical, background check and controlled substance test is required.Duties include making scheduled pickups on established route to corrugated box customers throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Will drop off finished products to the customer plant where plant personnel will load the next shipment. This is the ideal driving position, with a local route. No overnight driving, and with frequent interaction with customers, drivers and plant personnel. If you are safe, reliable and enjoy interacting with customers, THIS IS THE JOB FOR YOU!
• This is a union facility and seniority prevails.
• This is an hourly rate of $22.85.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of Tractors and trailers consists of approx. 15 minutes of walking, squatting, and bending to perform safety inspections.
• Complete paperwork, signing Bill of Ladings, completing a “Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report”, approx 5 minutes.
• Working on on-board computer as a means of completing “Driver’s daily driving logs”, approx 10 minutes during the course of the day.
• Climbing in and out of Tractor as needed.
• Hand cranking landing gear to hook and unhook trailers.
• Hooking and unhooking air lines and electrical lines.
• Opening and closing trailer doors.
• Spotting trailers to docks.

The Job You Will Perform:
• Safely operatea tractor-trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (DOT) regulations
• Complete local deliveries while providing prompt service to customers on scheduled routes in an error-free manner
• Conductpre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer, Box Truck/Van prior to each trip and at the end of each trip
• Complete required routing through the use of all approved transportation vehicles (Box Van, Roll On-Roll Off, TTFU, Semi)
• Work closely with Dispatcher to determine the best strategies to improve processes

The Job You Will Perform:
• Safely operatea tractor-trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (DOT) regulations
• Complete local deliveries while providing prompt service to customers on scheduled routes in an error-free manner
• Conductpre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer, Box Truck/Van prior to each trip and at the end of each trip
• Complete required routing through the use of all approved transportation vehicles (Box Van, Roll On-Roll Off, TTFU, Semi)
• Work closely with Dispatcher to determine the best strategies to improve processes
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards, including cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck
The Skills You Will Bring:
• Valid CDL Class A license required
• Ability to operate a standard transmission
• Must be 21 years of age (At least 1-year verifiable driving experience preferred)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Clean DMV/MVR record
• Current DOT Medical card
• Air Brakes Certification
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and criminal background check
• Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and DOT rules and regulations
• Must be able to drive a Tractor hauling a Flatbed and a Prowler/Forklift and use the Prowler to load Cardboard bales on the flatbed from the stores while doing a bale route with a TTFU and service stores
• Must have flatbed experience and Forklift/MOFFETT Truck mounted forklift Experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Pride in reliability and working with a team
• Must be able to check truck’s equipment and supplies to assure road worthiness
• Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs
• Must be knowledgeable of proper methods of loading and unloading trucks safely, securing loads on trucks
• Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc.
• Must comply with all requirements for safe and legal transportation of hazardous material as applicable

• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

• Complete daily pre/post trip inspections, reporting any safety concerns
• Attend daily safety-tool box meetings

• Maintain communication throughout the day with dispatcher accommodating route changes as needed
